Operating Instructions

1. Button Functions

The Rapoo VT7/VT7 MAX mouse features 10 programmable buttons, including a scroll wheel. The standard layout is as follows:

  • Left Button: Primary click function.
  • Right-click: Secondary click function.
  • Press Wheel (Middle Button): Clickable scroll wheel.
  • Scroll Forward/Backward: Scroll up/down.
  • DPI+/DPI-: Adjusts the mouse's DPI sensitivity.
  • Forward Side Key: Default forward navigation.
  • Backward Side Button: Default backward navigation.
  • Anti-misclick DIY Standalone Key: Factory default is Return Rate Cycle Switch. Customizable via software.

2. DPI Adjustment

Use the DPI+/DPI- buttons to cycle through preset DPI levels. The Rapoo VT7/VT7 MAX offers a wide range of DPI settings, adjustable in increments of 50 units for the VT7 (50-26000 DPI) and increments of 10 units for the VT7 MAX (10-45000 DPI).

3. Polling Rate Adjustment

The mouse supports multiple polling rates up to 8000Hz. The polling rate can be adjusted via the dedicated standalone key (default) or through the driver software. Higher polling rates provide faster response times but may consume more battery.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the mouse surface regularly.
  • For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the mouse's finish or sensor.
  • Use a cotton swab or compressed air to clean dust and debris from around the scroll wheel and sensor area.

2. Battery Care

  • To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the mouse frequently.
  • Charge the mouse when the battery indicator shows low power.
  • If storing the mouse for an extended period, charge it to about 50% and store it in a cool, dry place.

3. Mouse Feet

The mouse feet are designed for smooth gliding. If they become worn, replace them with the spare set provided in the package for optimal performance.

Troubleshooting

Mouse Not Responding

  • Check Battery: Ensure the mouse is charged. Connect it via the USB-C cable to charge or use in wired mode.
  • Check Connection: For wireless mode, ensure the 8K receiver is securely plugged into a USB port and the mouse is turned on. Try a different USB port.
  • Re-pair (Wireless): If connection is lost, try re-pairing the mouse with the receiver. Refer to the Rapoo driver software for specific instructions.
  • Wired Mode Test: Connect the mouse directly via the USB-C cable to see if it functions in wired mode. This helps determine if the issue is with wireless connectivity or the mouse itself.

Inconsistent Tracking or Lag

  • Surface: Ensure you are using the mouse on a clean, suitable mouse pad. Avoid reflective or uneven surfaces.
  • Sensor Cleanliness: Clean the mouse sensor with a cotton swab.
  • Polling Rate: While higher polling rates offer better responsiveness, ensure your system can handle it. If experiencing lag, try lowering the polling rate (e.g., from 8000Hz to 4000Hz or 1000Hz).
  • Interference (Wireless): Move the receiver closer to the mouse using the USB adapter. Avoid placing the receiver near other wireless devices or large metal objects.
  • Driver Update: Ensure your Rapoo driver software is up to date.

Buttons Not Working Correctly

  • Driver Software: Open the Rapoo driver software to check button assignments. Reset to default if necessary.
  • Physical Obstruction: Check for any physical debris or obstruction preventing button presses.
  • Firmware Update: Check for available firmware updates for your mouse via the Rapoo driver software.

User Tips

  • Optimize Polling Rate: Experiment with different polling rates (1000Hz, 2000Hz, 4000Hz, 8000Hz) to find the balance between responsiveness and battery life that suits your gaming style and system performance. While 8000Hz offers the fastest response, 1000Hz provides significantly longer battery life.
  • Custom Profiles: Utilize the Rapoo driver software to create custom profiles for different games or applications. This allows you to quickly switch between optimized DPI, button assignments, and performance modes.
  • Receiver Placement: For the most stable wireless connection, especially at higher polling rates, use the included USB adapter to place the 8K receiver as close as possible to the mouse and away from other electronic devices that might cause interference.
  • Regular Cleaning: Keep the mouse sensor and feet clean to ensure consistent tracking and smooth gliding. Dust and debris can negatively impact performance.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Rapoo official website or the driver software for firmware updates. These updates often include performance improvements, bug fixes, and new features.
