1. Introduction

The Topton D12 Plus is a compact and powerful Mini PC designed for gaming and multimedia use. Featuring AMD Ryzen AI processors, dual 2.5G LAN, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and OCuLink support for external graphics cards, it offers versatile performance in a small form factor. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your Mini PC.

2. Package Contents

Please check the contents of your package upon arrival. The standard package typically includes:

3. Physical Overview

The Topton D12 Plus features a durable metal body with a compact design, measuring 132mm(L) x 132mm(W) x 48mm(H) and weighing approximately 0.58kg. Its small size makes it easy to integrate into any workspace.

4. Initial Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Topton D12 Plus Mini PC:

  1. Connect Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, and other USB devices to the available USB ports.
  2. Connect Display: Connect your monitor(s) to the HDMI 2.1, DP 2.1, or USB4.0 Type-C ports using appropriate cables. The Mini PC supports triple screen display.
  3. Connect Network: For wired internet, connect an Ethernet cable to one of the 2.5G RJ45 LAN ports. For wireless, ensure the Wi-Fi antennas are connected (if external) or that the internal module is functioning.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC-IN port on the rear of the Mini PC, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  5. Power On: Press the power switch on the front of the Mini PC. The system should boot up.

Most configurations come with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and activated. If you purchased a 'No Ram No SSD No OS' bundle, you will need to install these components and an operating system yourself.

5. Basic Operation

Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press the power button on the front panel.
  • Power Off: Use the operating system's shutdown function. Alternatively, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to force a shutdown (not recommended for regular use).

ES CPU Information

Note: If your unit is equipped with an ES (Engineering Sample) CPU, its performance may be approximately 10% lower compared to the official retail version. The CPU model may not display correctly in system information (e.g., showing a serial number like 100-000000955 instead of the model name). You can verify the corresponding CPU version model on the official AMD website using the serial number.

6. Connectivity Features

Network (LAN & WiFi)

The Mini PC is equipped with dual Intel i226-V 2.5G LAN ports for high-speed wired network connections, greatly improving network security, performance, and response speed. For wireless connectivity, it features a WiFi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3 dual-function wireless module, ensuring stable and fast connections.

OCuLink and USB4 for External Graphics

The Mini PC supports OCuLink (PCIE Gen4x4) and USB4 (Type-C) for connecting external independent displays and graphics card docking stations. This allows for significant graphics performance improvement, enabling you to enjoy large-scale games and AI model computations.

Important OCuLink Note: The external graphic card is not included. OCuLink does NOT support hot-plugging. Please ensure the power supply is turned OFF before plugging or unplugging any OCuLink devices.

Triple Screen Display

The Mini PC supports triple screen display with 4K high-definition output via HDMI 2.1, DP 2.1, and USB4.0, allowing for high refresh rates and smoother graphics for an enhanced visual experience and improved work efficiency.

7. Memory and Storage Upgrades

The Topton D12 Plus is designed for easy upgrades of RAM and SSD storage.

RAM (Memory)

The Mini PC features two SO-DIMM DDR5 slots, supporting a maximum of 128GB DDR5 memory at 5600MHz. Dual-channel memory can significantly improve performance for multitasking and gaming.

SSD (Storage)

It is equipped with two M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots, supporting PCIe 4.0 x4 speed and a maximum capacity of 8TB (up to 4TB per slot). This allows for fast reading, large capacity, and smoother multitasking.

To install or upgrade RAM/SSD, carefully open the Mini PC casing. Refer to the internal layout for slot locations. Ensure the device is powered off and disconnected from the power source before performing any internal modifications.

Cooling System

The D12 Plus features a double copper tube and customized air-cooled cooling system with a TDP of 54W, designed for efficient heat dissipation to ensure long-term stable operation of the motherboard, processor, memory, and hard drive.

  • Dust Removal: Periodically clean the vents and fan (if accessible) to prevent dust buildup, which can hinder cooling efficiency. Use compressed air for best results.
  • Operating Environment: Ensure the Mini PC is placed in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

General Cleaning

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the Mini PC.
  • Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.

9. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:

  • No Power:
    • Check if the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and the power outlet.
    • Ensure the power outlet is functional.
  • No Display:
    • Verify that the monitor is powered on and the correct input source is selected.
    • Check display cables (HDMI, DP, USB4) for secure connections.
    • Try connecting to a different display port or monitor.
  • No Internet Connection (Wired):
    • Ensure the Ethernet cable is properly connected to both the Mini PC and the router/modem.
    • Check your router/modem status.
    • Verify network settings in the operating system.
  • No Internet Connection (Wireless):
    • Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled in the operating system.
    • Check if the correct Wi-Fi network is selected and the password is entered correctly.
    • Restart your router/modem.
  • OCuLink External Graphics Card Not Detected:
    • Ensure the Mini PC is completely powered off before connecting or disconnecting the OCuLink cable.
    • Verify the external graphics card is properly seated and powered.
    • Check for updated drivers for the external graphics card.
