4. Installation Guide (Setup)

4.1. Compatibility Check

Before installation, ensure your vehicle is a Chrysler 300 Series manufactured between 2011 and 2016. If you are unsure about compatibility, please contact customer support with photos of your car’s center console.

4.2. Toggle Switch (DIP Switch) Setup

Locate the toggle (DIP) switches on the CarPlay decoder box. These switches need to be set according to your car's screen size.

For an 8.4 inch screen (640x480 resolution), use the following settings:

4.3. Cable Connection Chart

Follow the diagram below for proper cable connections. Ensure all connections are secure.

  • Connect the MIC IN, GND, 12V Reverse Camera out, 12V ACC out, Back/Reverse Detect, and 12V input reverse Detect wires.
  • Connect power supply for reverse camera and front camera/DVR.
  • Connect USB Port for USB flash drives/mobile phones.
  • Ensure the WiFi antenna is kept away from metal for optimal signal.
  • Connect the new LVDS cable to the OEM CD host and the screen.
  • If there is noise, try unplugging the indicated wire.

4.4. WiFi Antenna and USB-AV Cable Connection

Connect the WiFi antenna and USB-AV cable to the designated ports on the decoder box as shown.

4.5. Decoder Box Placement

The CarPlay interface decoder box should be installed in an appropriate space near or on the OEM head unit. Ensure it is secured and does not interfere with other components.

4.6. Switching Between Systems

After all cables are connected, you can switch between the original car screen and the CarPlay interface by:

  • Long pressing the "Knob Enter" button.
  • Long pressing the top left corner (for left-hand traffic) on the touch screen.
  • Long pressing the top right corner (for right-hand traffic) on the touch screen.

4.7. Audio Source Selection

Plug the AUX cable into the OEM AUX input and switch your car's audio source to AUX.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Wireless CarPlay Connection Method

Follow these steps to connect your iPhone wirelessly to CarPlay:

  1. Step 1: On the SmartPhone Setting screen, select "Bluetooth".
  2. Step 2: Check the Bluetooth Device name starting with "CAR-xxxx" in the Bluetooth interface.
  3. Step 3: Turn on Wi-Fi and keep it on. Then, return to Bluetooth to connect CarPlay.
  4. Step 4: Select the Bluetooth Device name "CAR-XXX" and choose "Pair". When a request window pops up, select "Use CarPlay".

5.2. Apple Wireless Screen Mirroring

To mirror your iPhone screen wirelessly:

  1. Step 1: On the SmartPhone Setting screen, select "AirPlay".
  2. Step 2: On your phone, select the "Wireless LAN" option. The search bar will show "CAR-WIFI-XXX". Click the link and enter the password: 66668888.
  3. Step 3: After successful Wi-Fi connection, return to your phone's main interface. Open the shortcut menu page, select "Screen Mirroring", and turn it on.
  4. Step 4: Once mobile phone "Screen Mirroring" is turned on, select "AirPlay" to complete the wireless screen mirroring.

5.3. Wireless Android Auto Connection Method

Follow these steps to connect your Android phone wirelessly to Android Auto:

  1. Step 1: On the SmartPhone Setting screen, select "Bluetooth".
  2. Step 2: Check the Bluetooth name starting with "CAR-xxx" in the Bluetooth interface.
  3. Step 3: Click on the Bluetooth name beginning with "CAR-xxx". A pairing request will pop up; click "Pairing". After successful Bluetooth pairing, follow the Android Auto connect process on screen.
  4. Step 4: Click the Bluetooth name at the beginning of "CAR-xxx" and click "Pairing". Turn on the Android Auto app on your mobile phone, and the system will connect automatically.

5.4. Android Wireless Screen Mirroring

To mirror your Android phone screen wirelessly:

  1. Step 1: Scan the QR code on the screen with your Android phone's browser to download the Auto Link app.
  2. Step 2: Switch the Wi-Fi Auto Link to "ON" in the Settings page.
  3. Step 3: Open the downloaded Auto Link software, search for "CAR-WIFI-XXXX" and connect. Then, click "START NOW" on the phone prompt box.
  4. Step 4: The media sound of AutoLink needs to connect with Bluetooth.

6. Audio Settings

6.1. Call Echo Cancellation

If you experience echo during phone calls, follow these steps to correct it:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Audio > AEC Delay.
  2. Click the "Start Auto AEC" button.
  3. Ensure the car environment is quiet.
  4. Set the volume to a moderate position.
  5. Wait 20 seconds for the estimation to complete.

  • No Display/Intermittent Connection: Check all cable connections (power, LVDS, USB-AV, WiFi antenna) to ensure they are secure. Verify DIP switch settings match your screen size.
  • No Audio/Poor Audio Quality: Ensure the AUX cable is correctly connected and the car's audio source is set to AUX. Perform Call Echo Cancellation if experiencing echo during calls.
  • Wireless Connection Problems: Confirm both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone and the correct device name is selected during pairing. Ensure all necessary permissions are granted on your phone.
  • Software Glitches: The device supports OTA (Over-The-Air) online upgrades. If you encounter software-related issues, check for available updates.
