5. Setup and Installation

5.1. App Download and Registration

  1. Scan the QR code on the packaging or search for 'CozyLife' or 'SmartLife' in your smartphone's app store (Google Play for Android, App Store for iOS).
  2. Download and install the application.
  3. Open the app and register for a new account or log in if you already have one.

5.2. Device Pairing

  1. Plug the CozyLife Smart Plug into a power outlet.
  2. Open the CozyLife/SmartLife app.
  3. Tap the '+' icon in the top right corner to add a device.
  4. Select 'Electrical Outlet' or 'Socket (Wi-Fi)' from the device list.
  5. Confirm that the indicator light on the smart plug is blinking rapidly. If not, press and hold the power button on the plug for 5-10 seconds until it blinks rapidly.
  6. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network password (5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported).
  7. The app will begin connecting to the device. Once connected, you can rename the smart plug for easier identification.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. App Control

Once paired, you can control your smart plug from anywhere with an internet connection:

  • Turn On/Off: Tap the power icon next to the device name in the app to instantly turn the connected appliance on or off.
  • Remote Access: Control your devices even when you are away from home.

6.2. Voice Control (Alexa & Google Home)

  1. Link Account: In the Alexa or Google Home app, enable the 'CozyLife' or 'SmartLife' skill/action and link your account.
  2. Discover Devices: Ask Alexa or Google Home to discover new devices.
  3. Voice Commands: Use commands like "Alexa, turn on the living room light" or "Hey Google, turn off the coffee maker."

6.3. Timing, Countdown, and Scheduling

Automate your devices with intelligent scheduling features:

  • Timing: Set a specific time for the plug to turn on or off (e.g., turn off at 22:30 once).
  • Scheduling: Create recurring schedules for daily operation (e.g., turn on at 07:00 every day).
  • Countdown: Set a timer for the plug to turn off after a specified duration (e.g., turn off 20 minutes later).

6.4. Relay Status Setting

Configure the smart plug's behavior after a power outage:

  • In the app settings for the smart plug, locate the 'Relay Status' option.
  • You can choose from:
    • **OFF:** The plug will remain off after power is restored.
    • **ON:** The plug will turn on after power is restored.
    • **Remember Last Status:** The plug will return to its state before the power outage.

6.5. Device Sharing

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not connecting to Wi-Fi:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The smart plug does not support 5GHz networks.
    • Check if your Wi-Fi password is correct.
    • Move the smart plug closer to your Wi-Fi router.
    • Reset the smart plug by holding the power button for 5-10 seconds until the indicator light blinks rapidly, then try pairing again.
  • Voice control not working:
    • Verify that the CozyLife/SmartLife skill/action is enabled and linked correctly in your Alexa or Google Home app.
    • Ensure the device name in the smart home app matches the name you are using in your voice commands.
    • Check your internet connection.
  • Plug is unresponsive:
    • Unplug the smart plug from the wall outlet, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in.
    • Check if the connected appliance is working correctly when plugged directly into a standard outlet.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a dry, soft cloth to clean the exterior of the smart plug. Do not use liquid cleaners or sprays.
  • Storage: Store the smart plug in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid Overloading: Do not connect appliances that exceed the maximum load current of 10A.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure your smart plug is within a reasonable range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • Consider grouping multiple smart plugs in the app for simultaneous control (e.g., 'All Living Room Lights').
  • Utilize the scheduling feature to automate daily tasks like turning on your coffee maker in the morning or lights in the evening.
  • The 'Remember Last Status' relay setting is useful for appliances like lamps, ensuring they return to their previous state after a power interruption.
