4. Setup Guide

4.1 Installing Switches and Keycaps

The Y75PRO is a barebones kit, meaning switches and keycaps are not pre-installed. You will need to purchase and install them separately.

  1. Using the provided switch puller, carefully align and press each mechanical switch into the hot-swappable sockets on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight to avoid bending.
  2. Once all switches are installed, gently press the desired keycaps onto the stems of the switches.

4.2 Connecting the Keyboard

The Y75PRO supports three connection modes: Wired, 2.4G Wireless, and Bluetooth.

4.2.1 Wired Connection

  1. Locate the mode switch on the side of the keyboard.
  2. Slide the switch to the 'Wired' position.
  3. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the keyboard's Type-C interface and the other end to your computer's USB port.
  4. The keyboard will be automatically recognized by your system.

4.2.2 2.4G Wireless Connection

  1. Locate the mode switch on the side of the keyboard.
  2. Slide the switch to the '2.4G' position.
  3. Plug the 2.4G USB receiver (usually found in a compartment on the keyboard or in the packaging) into an available USB port on your computer.
  4. The keyboard should automatically connect. If not, press and hold the 'FN' key + 'P' key for 3 seconds to initiate pairing.

4.2.3 Bluetooth Connection

  1. Locate the mode switch on the side of the keyboard.
  2. Slide the switch to the 'BT' position.
  3. On your computer or device, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  4. On the keyboard, press and hold 'FN' + 'Q', 'FN' + 'W', or 'FN' + 'E' for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode for Bluetooth device 1, 2, or 3 respectively. The corresponding key will flash.
  5. Select 'YINDIAO Y75PRO' from the list of available Bluetooth devices on your computer/device to complete the pairing.

4.3 Operating System Switch

The keyboard features a dedicated switch for Windows and macOS compatibility.

  1. Locate the 'Win/Mac Device switch' on the side of the keyboard (refer to Figure 6).
  2. Slide the switch to the appropriate operating system ('WIN' for Windows, 'IOS' for macOS) to ensure correct key mapping and functionality.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Multifunctional Knob

The knob located on the top right of the keyboard serves multiple purposes:

  • Short Press: Switches between light effect mode and volume control mode.
  • Rotate Left/Right: In light effect mode, rotates to decrease/increase light brightness. In volume control mode, rotates to decrease/increase volume level.
  • Press and Hold (3 seconds): Switches between the two main modes (light brightness adjustment and volume level adjustment).

5.2 RGB Backlight Control

The Y75PRO features extensive RGB backlighting with 15 different effects.

  • FN + \: Cycles through the 15 available light effects (Spectrum, Breathe, Static, Flowers, Wave, Waterfall, Fountain, Wave 2, Rotation, Waves, Diffusion, Single, Blossom, Starlight, Wave 1).
  • FN + SHIFT: Activates custom lighting mode (further customization may require software, if available).

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Keyboard

  • Use the provided dust cover when the keyboard is not in use to prevent dust accumulation.
  • For general cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the keycaps and frame.
  • For deeper cleaning, you may remove keycaps using the keycap puller and clean underneath with compressed air or a small brush.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the finish.

6.2 Replacing Switches

The hot-swappable design allows for easy switch replacement:

  1. Power off the keyboard or disconnect it from your device.
  2. Use the switch puller tool to gently grip the switch from the top and bottom clips.
  3. Pull the switch straight up to remove it from the socket.
  4. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes in the PCB socket. Ensure the pins are straight.
  5. Gently press the new switch into the socket until it clicks into place. Do not force it.
  6. Test the new switch to ensure it functions correctly.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Keyboard not responding in wired mode. Loose cable connection, incorrect mode switch position, faulty USB port. Ensure Type-C cable is securely connected. Check if the mode switch is set to 'Wired'. Try a different USB port on your computer.
2.4G wireless connection unstable or not connecting. USB receiver not plugged in, incorrect mode, interference. Ensure 2.4G receiver is plugged in. Set mode switch to '2.4G'. Re-pair by holding 'FN' + 'P'. Move closer to the receiver or away from other wireless devices.
Bluetooth device not found or connecting. Incorrect mode, pairing mode not activated, device's Bluetooth off. Set mode switch to 'BT'. Activate pairing mode ('FN' + 'Q/W/E'). Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device. Forget and re-pair the device.
RGB backlight not working or stuck. Lighting effect paused, software issue. Press 'FN' + '\' to cycle through effects. Check if any dedicated lighting software is interfering.
Keys not registering or double-typing. Loose switch, faulty switch. Ensure switches are fully seated. Try replacing the problematic switch with a spare.
Win/Mac key mapping incorrect. Incorrect OS switch position. Verify the 'Win/Mac Device switch' is set to your current operating system.
