Before using your coffee machine for the first time, please follow these steps:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the coffee machine and all accessories from the packaging. Dispose of packaging materials responsibly.
  2. Clean: Wash the thermal carafes, their lids, and the removable filter cartridge with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a damp cloth.
  3. Position: Place the coffee machine on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and heat.
  4. First Rinse Cycle:
    • Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water up to the "10 cups" mark.
    • Place an empty paper filter (size 1x4 or similar) into the filter cartridge.
    • Place an empty thermal carafe with its lid on the warming plate.
    • Plug the appliance into a suitable wall outlet (220-240V ~ 50Hz).
    • Press the On/Off button. The control light will illuminate.
    • Allow the machine to complete a full brewing cycle with only water.
    • Discard the hot water. Repeat this process once or twice to thoroughly clean the internal components.

6. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew a fresh pot of coffee:

  1. Fill Water Tank: Open the lid of the water tank and fill it with the desired amount of fresh, cold water. The water level indicator on the side will help you measure. Do not exceed the "10 cups" maximum mark.
  2. Insert Filter: Recline the filter cartridge. Insert a paper filter (not included) into the cartridge.
  3. Add Ground Coffee: Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the paper filter. A general guideline is one tablespoon of ground coffee per cup, but adjust to your taste.
  4. Close Filter: Slide the filter cartridge back into place securely.
  5. Place Carafe: Place one of the thermal carafes, with its lid properly closed, onto the warming plate. Ensure it is positioned correctly to activate the anti-drip mechanism.
  6. Start Brewing: Plug the appliance into a suitable wall outlet. Press the On/Off button. The control light will illuminate, indicating that the brewing process has started.
  7. Wait for Brewing: The machine will automatically brew the coffee. The anti-drip feature will prevent coffee from dripping when the carafe is briefly removed during brewing.
  8. Serve: Once brewing is complete, the control light will remain on, but the heating element will turn off. The thermal carafe will keep the coffee hot. You can now remove the carafe and serve.
  9. Switch Off: After serving, press the On/Off button again to turn off the machine and unplug it from the wall outlet.
  10. Second Carafe: If you wish to brew a second pot, repeat steps 1-9, using the second thermal carafe.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee machine.

7.1 Daily Cleaning

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Discard Filter: Remove and discard the used paper filter and ground coffee.
  3. Wash Removable Parts: Wash the thermal carafes, their lids, and the removable filter cartridge in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally not dishwasher safe unless specified otherwise in a full manual.
  4. Wipe Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  5. Do NOT Immerse: Never immerse the main unit of the coffee machine in water or any other liquid.

7.2 Descaling

Mineral deposits (limescale) from water can build up in your coffee machine and affect its performance and the taste of your coffee. Descale your machine regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-4 weeks).

  1. Prepare Descaling Solution: Mix a descaling solution according to the manufacturer's instructions (e.g., white vinegar and water, or a commercial descaling agent).
  2. Fill Water Tank: Pour the descaling solution into the water tank up to the "10 cups" mark.
  3. Run Cycle: Place an empty thermal carafe on the warming plate. Turn on the coffee machine and let half of the solution brew through.
  4. Soak: Turn off the machine and let it stand for approximately 15-20 minutes to allow the solution to work.
  5. Complete Cycle: Turn the machine back on and let the remaining solution brew through.
  6. Rinse Cycles: After descaling, run at least two full brewing cycles with fresh, cold water only to rinse out any residual descaling solution. Discard the water after each cycle.
