6. Maintenance

6.1 General Care

  • Keep the multimeter dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
  • Use and store the multimeter in normal temperature environments. Extreme temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices.
  • Handle the multimeter gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage circuit boards and cases.
  • Keep the multimeter away from dust and dirt, which can cause corrosion.
  • Wipe the multimeter with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents.

6.2 Intelligent Burn Prevention

The multimeter is designed with intelligent burn prevention features, including glass explosion-proof fuses for current input sockets (200mA and 20A) to protect the instrument from being damaged by overcurrents, provided the connected voltage is below 250V.

Image: Internal view of the multimeter's circuit board, highlighting the 200mA and 20A fuses designed for intelligent burn prevention.

6.3 Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries promptly to ensure accurate measurements. Refer to section 4.1 for battery installation instructions.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Display: Check if the power button is pressed. Ensure batteries are correctly installed and not depleted.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Replace batteries if the low battery indicator is on. Ensure test leads are properly connected and not damaged. Verify the correct function and range are selected.
  • 'OL' (Overload) Display: The measured value exceeds the selected range. Switch to a higher range or verify the circuit is within the instrument's capabilities.
  • No Continuity Beep: Ensure the circuit is de-energized. Check test leads for damage.
