5. Installation Guide
5.1. Welding Instructions
- Welding Sampling Cable:
- Start with the thin black wire connecting to battery B- (total negative electrode).
- Connect the second wire to the positive electrode of the first battery string.
- Continue connecting the positive electrode of each battery string in sequence.
- Finally, weld the B+ wire to the last battery string (total positive pole).
- Important: Do not insert the BMS when welding the sampling cable. Weld according to the actual number of battery strings. Insulate any extra sampling cables.
- Detection Voltage: Use a multimeter or line sequence detection equipment to measure if the voltage of each pinhole in the cable is within the normal range. If not, check for misconnections, false soldering, or missing soldering.
- Welding P- & B- Cable:
- Screw the B- cable (blue) and P- cable (black) to the corresponding B- and P- nuts of the BMS. Recommended torque is 10N-m.
- Weld the B- cable to the total negative terminal of the battery.
- Important: Insulate the P- cable when welding the B- cable, and remove the insulation when connecting the output terminal.
- Connect BMS Accessories: Connect accessories such as temperature control, power board, GPS, LCD display, etc. Then, insert the sampling cable into the BMS to activate it automatically.
5.2. Wiring Diagrams
The following diagrams illustrate typical wiring for various battery configurations. Ensure to follow these diagrams carefully. For incomplete string configurations (e.g., using a 4-string battery with an 8-string BMS), insulate the extra cables.

5.3. Power-On and Power-Off Sequence
Power-On Sequence:
- Install the B- cable.
- Insert the collection line.
- Connect the B+ line.
- Install the P- cable.
Power-Off Sequence:
- Remove the B+ cable.
- Remove the collection cable.
- Remove the P- cable.
- Remove the B- cable.
5.4. Battery Pack Parallel Connection Precautions
- Ensure that the battery pack voltage is the same for all packs in parallel. The total pressure difference between each group of battery packs should be less than 1V to prevent high-current charging from a high-voltage pack to a low-voltage pack, which could trigger the BMS short-circuit protection.
- When paralleling lithium battery packs, manually disconnect the discharging MOS in the Bluetooth APP control center interface before connecting in parallel to prevent battery packs from firing.
6. App and PC Software
6.1. Downloading and Installing the App
- Scan the QR code provided on the BMS unit or in the user manual.
- Alternatively, search for "DALY BMS" in the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.

6.2. Setting Parameters
Upon first use, the battery type and capacity must be set in the APP or PC software (factory default is LFP parameters). The battery capacity should match the actual capacity of your battery pack. For initial calibration, the battery needs to be fully charged to 100%.
Other protection parameters can be customized as needed. The factory default password for modifying parameters on the APP is 123456, and for the PC host is 20211115.
Note: When there is no charging or discharging, the BMS will enter sleep mode after 3600 seconds by default. It will automatically wake up upon detecting charging or discharging. The sleep time can be modified via the APP or PC. Setting it to 65535 disables sleep mode.

6.3. DALY Cloud Remote Management
The optional WiFi module allows access to the DALY Cloud platform (databms.com) to manage lithium batteries remotely and in bulk. Battery data is stored in the cloud, supporting multi-level sub-accounts. Firmware upgrades for the BMS can be performed remotely via the App and Cloud Platform.

7. Operation
7.1. Active Balance Function
The DALY BMS features an active balancing function to equalize cell voltages within the battery pack. This function is activated when the following conditions are met:
- The cell voltage reaches the set opening voltage.
- The voltage difference between cells reaches the set opening voltage difference.
Both conditions must be met simultaneously for balancing to occur. If either condition is not met, the balancing function will be inactive.
Default Parameters:
- Balance On Voltage: Factory default.
- Balance On Voltage difference: Factory default.
- Balance current: 900±200 mA.
7.2. Multi-Channel Communication
The UART interface allows for expansion with various modules such as WiFi, GPS, and displays. Customizable CAN/485 interfaces are available for connection to a PC Master or other devices like inverters.

8. Maintenance
- Ensure the BMS is used within its specified working temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Avoid extreme temperatures.
- Regularly check all wiring connections to ensure they are fixed firmly and free from vibration.
- Maintain proper waterproof, moisture-proof, and insulation measures for the BMS and battery pack.
- Ensure the battery pack, total positive, and negative terminals, and the shell have an insulation resistance of ≥ 10MΩ.
- Do not disassemble or modify the components of the BMS yourself.
- The heat dissipation surface of the BMS should not directly contact the battery cells to prevent heat transfer that could affect battery safety.
9. Troubleshooting
- BMS Not Activating: Ensure all sampling cables are correctly welded and inserted into the BMS. Check the power-on sequence.
- Incorrect Voltage Readings: Verify all sampling cable connections. Use a multimeter to check the voltage of each pinhole in the cable for misconnections or false soldering.
- BMS Entering Sleep Mode Unexpectedly: The BMS defaults to sleep after 3600 seconds of inactivity. It will wake up upon charging/discharging. Adjust the sleep time setting via the APP or PC software if needed.
- Balancing Issues: Check if the balance on voltage and voltage difference conditions are met. Ensure the battery pack is healthy.
- Communication Problems (App/PC): Ensure the WiFi module or Bluetooth is correctly connected and configured. Check network connectivity for cloud services.
- BMS Damage After Wiring: Miswiring protection is limited to 6 strings of miswiring interval. Incorrect wiring beyond this limit can damage the BMS. Always follow the wiring diagrams carefully.
- Indicator Light Red: A red indicator light signifies an alarm or protection event. Check the app or PC software for specific error codes or warnings.
10. User Tips
- Always double-check all wiring connections before powering on the BMS to prevent damage.
- Utilize the DALY BMS mobile app for real-time monitoring of your battery's state of charge, voltage, temperature, and current. This helps in proactive management.
- For optimal performance and longevity, ensure your battery pack is fully charged to 100% during the initial setup for proper BMS calibration.
- When connecting multiple battery packs in parallel, verify that all packs have similar voltages (total pressure difference <1V) to avoid high current surges.
- Regularly update the BMS firmware via the app and cloud platform to benefit from the latest features and improvements.
11. Warranty and Support
3-Year Warranty: The product is guaranteed free of charge within 3 years from the purchase date under normal use. Any round-trip freight costs for warranty service will be borne by the user.
DALY provides a professional after-sales team equipped to offer reliable support. For any issues or inquiries, please contact DALY customer service.

12. Important Notes
- Cables from different manufacturers are not universal. Always use DALY's sampling cables provided with the unit.
- When testing, installing, contacting, and using the BMS, always take anti-static measures to prevent damage.
- The outer shell of the BMS can conduct electricity. Avoid contact with battery cells and nickel strips during assembly due to electrostatic protection design. The shell and motherboard share the same ground, so voltage readings during measurement are normal.
- All products undergo strict ex-factory inspection and testing. Ensure the BMS is used according to the parameter instructions and within the normal applicable temperature range (-40°C ~ 85°C) to prevent failure.
