5. Installation Guide

The installation process involves mounting the motor, attaching it to the roller tube, and securing the assembly. It is recommended to have the roller tube and brackets already in place before inserting the motor.

  1. Prepare the Roller Tube: Ensure your roller tube is compatible with a 45mm diameter motor. Attach the crown and drive adapter to the motor shaft.
  2. Insert Motor into Tube: Slide the motor, with the crown and drive adapter attached, into one end of the roller tube. Ensure it fits snugly.
  3. Mount the Motor Assembly: Secure the motor assembly into the pre-installed brackets. The motor's head should align with the bracket designed for it, and the tail plug should be inserted into the other end of the tube and secured to its bracket.
  4. Secure Brackets: Ensure all brackets are firmly attached to the wall or ceiling structure.

6. Wiring Instructions

IMPORTANT: All wiring must be done with the power supply disconnected. Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure.

6.1. Motor Type Distinction and Wiring

The main difference between the DM45R and DM45S motors lies in their wiring and control method:

  • DM45R (Built-in Motor): Features 3 core wires and an integrated RF433 receiver. It does not have an external antenna.
  • DM45S (External Motor): Features 4 core wires and requires an external receiver or switch for control. It typically includes an external antenna.

6.2. DM45S External Motor Wiring (4 Core Wires)

The DM45S motor requires an external switch or receiver. Connect the 4 core wires as follows:

  • Blue: Zero Line
  • Brown: Fire Wire 1 (e.g., for 'Up' command)
  • Black: Fire Wire 2 (e.g., for 'Down' command)
  • Yellow/Green: Ground Wire

This motor can be controlled via a mechanical hand switch or an external receiver switch (e.g., DC254) paired with a remote control (e.g., DC305).

6.3. DM45R Built-in Motor Wiring (3 Core Wires)

The DM45R motor has a built-in RF433 receiver and requires 3 core wires for direct power supply. It can be controlled directly by a compatible wireless switch or remote controller.

  • Blue: Zero Line
  • Brown: Fire Wire
  • Yellow/Green: Ground Wire

This motor is suitable for installations where no external switch wiring is desired or space is limited. It can be controlled by wireless remote panels (e.g., DC863) or remote controls (e.g., DC305).

7. Operation

7.1. Remote Control Pairing (DM45R)

For DM45R motors with built-in RF433, you will need to pair a compatible rolling code remote control (e.g., Dooya DC2700 or DC2702D). Refer to your remote control's specific instructions for pairing procedures. Ensure the remote control is a rolling code version to match the motor.

7.2. Basic Operation

  • Up/Open: Press the 'Up' or 'Open' button on your remote control or wall switch to raise the blind/sunshade.
  • Down/Close: Press the 'Down' or 'Close' button to lower the blind/sunshade.
  • Stop: Press the 'Stop' button to halt the movement at any desired position.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Keep the motor and surrounding area clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the motor, wiring, and mounting brackets for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections.
  • Lubrication: The motor is factory-lubricated and generally does not require additional lubrication.
  • Professional Service: For any complex issues or internal repairs, contact a qualified service technician. Do not attempt to open the motor housing yourself.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter problems with your Dooya tubular motor, refer to the following common issues and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Motor does not respond to remote/switch.No power supply.
Remote control not paired (DM45R).
Incorrect wiring.
Remote control battery low.
Check power connection.
Re-pair remote control (refer to remote manual).
Verify wiring according to section 6.
Replace remote control batteries.
Motor runs in wrong direction.Incorrect wiring of 'Up'/'Down' wires.Reverse the 'Fire Wire 1' and 'Fire Wire 2' connections (for DM45S). For DM45R, consult remote programming for direction adjustment.
Motor makes unusual noise.Obstruction in the blind/sunshade path.
Motor not properly seated in tube/brackets.
Check for obstructions and remove them.
Ensure motor is securely installed.
Motor stops intermittently.Overheating (thermal protection).
Loose wiring connection.
Allow motor to cool down. Reduce continuous operation.
Check and secure all wiring connections.
