2. Setup

2.1. Package Contents

2.2. Installation

2.2.1. Wiring Diagram

  • Audio and Video Multifunctional Plug: Connects various audio and video inputs/outputs.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. Basic Operation

The device features a responsive touch screen and physical buttons for essential functions. The main menu provides quick access to various applications.

3.2. System Settings

Access the 'Settings' icon from the main menu to configure various aspects of your device.

  • Language: Select your preferred display language (e.g., English, German, French, Spanish, etc.).
  • Display: Adjust brightness (day/night), set wallpaper, and configure screen-related options.
  • Reverse Camera: Enable/disable guidelines, radar, and mirror functions for the reverse camera.
  • Radio: Set radio signal strength (High, Middle, Low), enable/disable radio antenna power supply, and select FM area.
  • Date/Time: Set date, time, time zone, and 24-hour format.
  • Keys: Learn steering wheel control buttons and panel buttons for custom functionality.
  • System: Access system updates, factory reset options, and view product information (Android version, RAM/ROM).

3.3. GPS Navigation

The unit features a built-in global positioning system for real-time traffic conditions and accurate positioning. Supported navigation apps include iGO, Navitel, Sygic, Yandex, Google Maps, and AMAP.

3.4. Bluetooth Function

The built-in smart Bluetooth system supports mobile phone pairing for hands-free calling, steering wheel button control, and music streaming.

  • BT Music: Stream audio from your paired smartphone.
  • Sync Contacts: Synchronize your phone's contacts with the head unit.
  • Synchronous Call Record: View call history directly on the screen.

3.5. CarPlay / Android Auto

The device supports both wireless CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration.

  • Wireless CarPlay Connection:
    1. Connect Bluetooth.
    2. Click on "R Lin-k" and wait for connection.

    Note: CarPlay can also be connected via USB Cable.

  • Wireless Android Auto Connection:
    1. Connect Bluetooth.
    2. Click on "Android Auto App" and wait for connection.

    Note: Android Auto can also be connected via USB Cable.

3.6. FM Radio

The FM radio supports automatic and manual station search. You can drag the icon of a target station to replace it in the channel list.

3.7. Media Playback

The device supports 1080P video decoding and fluent playback of various audio and video formats from USB/SD storage.

3.8. Sound Settings

Adjust the audio output using the built-in equalizer and sound field settings.

  • Equalizer: Choose from preset modes (Classical, Standard, Dance, Folk, Straight, Jazz, Rock) or customize your own settings.
  • Sound Field: Optimize audio for specific seating positions (Driver mode, Co-pilot mode, Rear seat mode, Full vehicle mode).

3.9. ADAS DVR (Optional)

If an optional ADAS DVR is connected, the system provides anti-collision warnings, lane departure warnings, forward collision warnings, and front vehicle distance predictions to enhance driving safety.

3.10. Reversing Video (Optional)

If a rear-view camera is connected, the device automatically displays the reversing video when the vehicle is in reverse gear, providing a clear view of the area behind the car.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Software Updates: Regularly check for and install firmware and software updates provided by MEKEDE to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
  • Factory Reset: In case of persistent software issues, a factory reset can be performed via the 'System' settings. Note that this will erase all user data and settings.

5. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check all power connections and the vehicle's fuse box. Ensure the ACC and Battery +12V wires are correctly connected.
  • No Sound: Verify speaker connections, check volume levels, and ensure the audio output is not muted in settings.
  • GPS Signal Lost: Ensure the GPS antenna is properly installed and has a clear view of the sky.
  • Bluetooth Connection Issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the head unit and your smartphone. Try unpairing and re-pairing the devices.
  • Touch Screen Unresponsive: Try restarting the device. If the issue persists, a factory reset might be necessary.
  • Steering Wheel Controls Not Working: Ensure the KEY1/KEY2 wires are correctly connected and perform the 'Steering wheel button learn' procedure in settings.
