Operating Instructions

The adapter supports two primary display modes:

1. Mirror Mode

In Mirror Mode, your external display(s) will show the exact same content as your source device's screen. This is ideal for presentations, sharing videos, or displaying content on a larger screen.

  • Supported Systems: Android, Mac OS, Windows.
  • Configuration: Typically, your operating system's display settings will allow you to select "Duplicate" or "Mirror Displays."

2. Extended Mode

In Extended Mode, your external display(s) act as an extension of your source device's screen, providing more desktop space. This is perfect for multitasking, allowing you to work on one screen while viewing other content on another.

  • Supported Systems:
    • Windows: Supports Extended Mode where the laptop, HD1, and HD2 can all display different content (e.g., A, B, C).
    • Mac OS: Supports Extended Mode where the external displays mirror each other but are extended from the laptop (e.g., A, B, B). Mac OS does not support displaying three distinct contents (A, B, C) with this adapter.
  • Configuration: In your operating system's display settings, select "Extend these displays." You can then arrange the displays as desired.

Troubleshooting

  • No Display/Flickering Screen:
    • Ensure all cables are securely connected.
    • Verify that your source device's USB-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode). Not all USB-C ports support this feature.
    • Check your display settings on your source device to ensure the output is enabled and configured correctly (e.g., Mirror or Extend).
    • Try connecting to a different HDMI port on your display or a different display altogether to rule out display issues.
    • Restart your source device.
  • Resolution Issues:
    • When using a single HDMI output, the adapter supports up to 4K@60Hz for a clear image without delay.
    • When using two HDMI outputs simultaneously, the maximum resolution supported is 4K*2K@30Hz. Ensure your displays and source device are configured for this resolution.
    • Adjust the display resolution in your operating system's settings.
  • Extended Mode not working on Mac OS with three distinct displays:
    • The adapter supports Extended Mode on Mac OS where the external displays mirror each other but are extended from the laptop (A, B, B). It does not support displaying three distinct contents (A, B, C) on Mac OS. This feature is typically available only on Windows systems.
