This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your AUTOTOP 12.3-inch 1920*720 Linux Wireless Carplay LCD Dashboard Instrument. This advanced digital gauge cluster panel is designed to upgrade the driving experience in compatible BMW 5 Series models by offering enhanced visuals, customizable layouts, and smart connectivity features.


2. Setup and Installation
The AUTOTOP digital instrument cluster is designed as an all-in-one, plug-and-play device, requiring no replacement of the vehicle's original mainboard. The wiring interfaces are largely identical to the original, with differences primarily in the external frame.
2.1 Pre-Installation Checklist
Before proceeding with the installation, please ensure you have gathered the following information about your vehicle:
- Car name and year version.
- A complete picture of the dashboard in front of the steering wheel.
- Confirmation of whether the original car has a Head-Up Display.
- Fuel type (diesel or gasoline). Note: Currently, all fuel tank data is for gasoline vehicles only, so it may be inaccurate for diesel vehicles.
- Confirmation of a single or dual fuel tank.
- Photo of the factory tire pressure monitoring system (if applicable).

2.3 Wiring Diagram

The BC button on the steering wheel supports switching between instrument cluster functions via long or short presses. The steering wheel scroll wheel is used for switching music tracks (up/down) in the playlist. Note: The multimedia music playlist feature is only available on units with Carplay compatibility and is not supported on the basic version.
3. Operation
3.1 Initial Use and Calibration
When using the cluster for the first time, please go to a gas station and fill up your fuel tank. Allow the digital cluster some time to automatically recalibrate the mileage.
3.2 Wireless Connectivity (Carplay/Android Mirroring)
The digital cluster supports Wireless Carplay for iOS devices and Android Mirroring for Android devices, allowing for real-time online navigation, music, and call lists.


3.3 Screen Mirroring (Android)
For Android screen mirroring, follow these steps:
- Change your phone's hotspot name to JLY168 and set the password to 12345678.
- Turn on the mobile hotspot.
- Open the zPlus app and select Wireless Connection.

3.4 Themes and Driving Modes
The digital cluster offers various themes and four dynamic driving modes:
- New iD8 M Theme: Displays drivetrain, turbo, water, oil, and battery temperatures. (Data display requires original vehicle support).
- Pre-installed Themes: Includes classic iD7 & iD8 styles.
- Driving Modes: Auto, Sport, Comfort, and ECO PRO. Each mode transforms the visuals from aggressive Sport layouts to minimalist Efficient displays, with customizable central view (live map or 3D car model) and driver-focused design.




3.5 Head-Up Display (HUD) Support
The digital cluster's head-up display supports the following functions:
- Max vehicle Speed (260, 270, 280, 300, 330 km/h)
- Door ajar indicator
- Left and right turn signal indicators
- Seatbelt unfastened indicator
- Original vehicle fault code indicator
The digital cluster's head-up display does NOT support the following functions:
- Multimedia List
- Online Navigation
- Navigation arrows
- Speed limit signs (Fixed values must be entered manually)

3.6 Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
The cluster supports the original car's Tire Defect Indicator (RPA) and Tire Pressure Monitor System (RDC). The digital tire pressure function is optional. Temperature readings are not supported.


3.7 Cruise Control and Adaptive Cruise Control
The cluster supports the original car's Cruise Control and Adaptive Cruise Control functions.

3.8 Speed and RPM Display
The cluster supports displaying Max vehicle speed (260, 270, 280, 300, 330 km/h) and Maximum RPM (6000, 7000, 8000).

3.9 Indicator Lights
The cluster provides various indicator lights including:
- Speed Warning
- Water temperature (Idle > Driving, 95°~105°)
- Oil temperature (Daily Driving: 90°~110°)
- Fuel level (Value less than 50km, need to fill up)
- Auto Gear position reminder
- Manual gear position reminder (can be hidden via System Settings -> Protocol Upgrade -> 0181)

3.10 Language Support
The digital cluster supports over 14 languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Polish, Dutch, Czech, Romanian, Bulgarian, Turkish, and Russian, ensuring perfect localization for European drivers.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Car Maintenance Service Information
Upon installation of this aftermarket instrument cluster, the primary interface for vehicle maintenance and service notifications will shift from the OEM central infotainment display to this digital instrument panel. All relevant service information will be reliably presented here.

5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Common Issues and Solutions

- Fuel Tank Data Incorrect:
If the fuel tank data is still incorrect after initial calibration, navigate to: System Settings → Factory Settings → Enter code 0168. You can modify the Main and Drop Tank values here. Remember to press Save afterward. - Original Car's Total Kilometer:
Normally, the instrument will automatically recognize the device. If not, you need to manually set the total kilometer: System Settings → Factory Settings → Enter 0168 → Enter total kilometer → Press save. - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Function Not Activating:
To activate cruise control and adaptive cruise control for the first time, increase your vehicle's speed by 30-40 mph.
If it still doesn't activate, try the second method:- System → Factory Settings → 0169 → Check whether the ACC function is turned on.
- System Settings - Protocol Upgrade - The password is 4321. You can try other configuration codes one by one.
- TPMS Display Issue:
If you have installed a digital tire pressure monitoring system but cannot see the digital tire pressure on the cluster, go to: System Settings - Factory Settings - Enter 0169 - Open the Tire Pressure option. - Manual Gear Position Display:
To disable the manual gear position display: System Settings → Protocol Upgrade → 0181. Enter 0181 once to enable the gear position display; enter 0181 again to disable the gear position display.
