2.3 SIM Card Installation

Before using the device, you need to purchase a local 4G SIM card. The SIM card slot supports Nano SIM cards. If your SIM card is a different size, please use an adapter (not included).

  1. Ensure the router is powered off.
  2. Carefully insert the 4G Nano SIM card into the SIM card slot. Pay attention to the orientation indicated near the slot.
  3. Do NOT hot-swap the SIM card. Always insert the SIM card first, then connect the power supply. Failure to follow this order may cause recognition errors or no network connection.

2.4 Power On

  1. Connect the original factory standard power adapter to the router's DC power input.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a power source.
  3. Wait for a short period as the device starts up. The Power indicator and Wi-Fi indicator will turn on.
  4. Once successfully registered to the network, the Network indicator will also turn on.

2.5 Computer IP Address Setup

Before accessing the web configuration page, it is recommended to set your computer to automatically obtain an IP address and DNS server address. The router will then automatically assign an IP address to your computer.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Logging into Router Configuration Page

To manage and configure your router:

  1. Connect your computer or mobile device to the router via Wi-Fi (refer to the sticker on the router for default Wi-Fi name and password) or via an Ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox).
  3. In the address bar, enter the router's default IP address (usually found on the sticker).
  4. A login window will appear. Enter the default username and password: admin for both.
  5. Click "Login". You may be prompted to change the administrator password for security reasons.

3.2 Wi-Fi Settings

Once logged in, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings:

  1. Click "Menu" > "Settings" > "Wi-Fi Settings".
  2. From this interface, you can modify your Wi-Fi network name (SSID), password, security type, and other related settings.

3.3 3G/4G Network Settings (APN & Band)

The router supports automatic configuration of 3G/4G dial-up parameters for most operators. If manual configuration is required:

  1. First, ensure your SIM card is active and working.
  2. Confirm that the 3G/4G dial-up settings of the router meet your local operator's requirements.
  3. On the homepage, click "Internet" > "APN Settings".
  4. Select "Manual" mode and click "Enable".
  5. Enter the username, password, dialing number, and APN parameter provided by your 3G/4G ISP.
  6. Click "Save". The device will restart for the changes to take effect.

Manual Band Selection

By default, the router automatically registers to the optimal 4G network. If the signal is poor or blocked, you can manually select the frequency band:

  1. On the homepage, navigate to "Internet" > "Band Settings" > "Frequency band selection Method".
  2. Select "Manual" and choose one or more desired frequency bands.
  3. Click "Save" for the changes to take effect.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Working Environment

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your router, observe the following environmental guidelines:

  • Keep the device away from heat sources and ensure adequate ventilation.
  • Place the equipment on a flat, stable surface.
  • Operate the device in a dry, dust-free environment.
  • During thunderstorms, dismantle the power supply and all connected wires to prevent lightning damage.

Note: Always use the rated power supply for the equipment. Using an unmatched power supply may damage the router.

4.2 Resetting the Router

Resetting the router will clear all custom settings and restore it to its factory default state. This is useful when moving the device to a new network environment or troubleshooting persistent issues.

  1. Log into the router's configuration page.
  2. Navigate to "Router" > "Configuration Management" > "Restore Factory Settings".
  3. Click "OK" to confirm. The router will automatically reboot and restore factory settings.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your OPTFOCUS 4G WIFI6 LTE Router, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No network connection after SIM insertion: Ensure the SIM card was inserted while the router was powered off. Hot-swapping is not supported and can lead to recognition errors. Verify that your local SIM card's 4G/3G bands are compatible with the router's supported bands (4G: B1/3/5/7/8/20/38/40/41; 3G: B1/5/8).
  • Slow internet speed: Check the signal strength indicator on the router. If the signal is weak, try repositioning the router or manually selecting a different frequency band in the settings. Ensure your data plan is active and has sufficient allowance.
  • Cannot access the router's web configuration page: Verify that your computer's IP address settings are set to 'obtain automatically'. Double-check the IP address entered in the browser and the login credentials (default: admin/admin).
  • Router not connecting to 5G network: This model is a 4G LTE router and does not support 5G connectivity. It operates on 4G and 3G networks.
  • Compatibility in specific regions (e.g., Saudi Arabia, Haiti): The router supports 4G bands B1/3/5/7/8/20/38/40/41 and 3G bands B1/5/8, which are compatible with many regions including EU, ASIA, and AFRICA. For specific countries, please verify your local carrier's network bands against these specifications to ensure compatibility.
