1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your WAFU WF-026 Invisible Smart Remote Control Electric Motor Lock. Designed for enhanced security and convenience, this lock features a hidden design, multiple unlocking methods, and optional smart app integration. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and safety.

2. Safety Information & Warm Tips

To prevent damage to the product and ensure user safety, please observe the following:

  • This product should not be installed in environments with long-period high temperatures (>50 °C), low temperatures (<-20 °C), or high humidity. Such conditions can lead to electronic component breakdown or damage, voiding the warranty.
  • Ensure all components are handled with care during installation.
  • Keep the lock away from strong magnetic fields.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the lock yourself, as this may void the warranty and cause damage.

3. Product Features

  • Invisible Design: No keyholes visible from the outside, providing enhanced anti-theft security.

5. Package Contents

6. Setup & Installation

6.1. Matters Before Installing

  1. Check all the accessories against the package contents list.
  2. Verify that the lock fits the structure of your door.
  3. Examine the door's condition, including material, shape, and surface.
  4. Measure the intended installation place carefully.
  5. Clean up the installation place thoroughly.

6.2. Installation Methods

Installation varies slightly based on door material (wooden or iron).

For Wooden Doors:

  1. Tear off the double-sided tape on the back of the installed board and lock catch.
  2. Choose the installation spot, paste the installed board on the door, ensuring flexible operation.
  3. Use a pencil to mark the screw holes on the door.
  4. Use screws to fasten the installed board and then install the main lock.
  5. Fasten the lock catch on the door frame.
  6. Check the flexibility of the lock and tighten all screws.

For Iron Doors:

The steps are similar to wooden doors, but instead of screws, you will use rivets.

  1. After marking the holes on the door, drill holes using a Φ4 drill bit.
  2. Fix rivets at the drilled holes using a rivet gun.

Uninstallation Method:

  • For wooden doors: Uninstall screws with a screwdriver.
  • For iron doors: Uninstall rivets using an electric hand drill or a file.

6.3. Detailed Installation Steps

  1. Prepare Lock Catch Direction:
    • Ensure the shortest part of the lock catch aligns with the direction of the Type-C hole on the main lock.
    • Ensure the close-door-side of the lock catch is aligned with the door frame.

  2. Assemble Main Lock and Installed Board:
    • After inserting the 4 AA batteries (not included), assemble the main lock and the installed board using the 6 M5 hexagon bolts and washers.
    • Assemble the lock catch and main lock together to determine the final installation position of the lock catch.
    • Tear off the double-sided tape on the back of the lock catch, then move and fix it to the door frame.

  3. Fixing the Lock Catch:
    • Once the lock catch position is determined, remove the main lock.
    • Use a hand-operated electric drill with a 4.2mm drill bit to drill holes for the lock catch.
    • Use a rivet gun and Φ4 rivets to fasten the lock catch securely.
  4. Final Main Lock Assembly:
    • Connect the main lock and the lock catch.
    • Tear off the double-sided tape on the back of the installed board, move it into position, and paste it tightly onto the door.
    • Reconnect the main lock with the installed board, fastening with the 6 M5 screws and washers. The entire installation process is now complete.

7. Operation

7.1. Remote Controller Pairing (Standard Version)

To pair remote controllers with the invisible lock:

  1. Open the battery cover of the main lock.
  2. Locate the setting key on the bottom right corner inside the battery compartment.
  3. Press and hold the setting key for 4 seconds until the lock emits a "beep" sound and the indicator light flashes red.
  4. Immediately press any key (Unlock or Lock) on each remote controller you wish to pair. The lock will emit a "beep" for each successful pairing.
  5. Press the setting key again for 1 second until it emits a "beep" sound to exit pairing mode.
  6. Test each remote controller to ensure it operates the lock normally. If any remote controller does not work, repeat the steps.

7.2. Tuya App Setup (Optional Version with BT/WiFi Adapter)

For models with Tuya App functionality, you will need a BT or WiFi adapter.

Download and Register App:

  • Search for "Smart Life" in your app store (iOS/Android) or scan the QR code provided in the manual.
  • Register your account and log in.

Adding Devices (BT Adapter):

  1. Enable Bluetooth and Location services on your phone.
  2. In the Smart Life app, click "Add Device" or the "+" sign.
  3. Select "Lock(BLE)" from the "Security & Video Su..." series.
  4. Connect the Bluetooth Adapter to an AC power source.
  5. Follow the app prompts to reset the device (long press the small hole on the adapter until the blue light flashes, then remove the screwdriver).
  6. The app will find the Bluetooth device. Click "+" to download and then "next" and "done" to finish connecting.

Adding Devices (WiFi Adapter):

  1. In the Smart Life app, click "Add Device" or the "+" sign.
  2. Select "Lock(WIFI)" from the "Security & Sensor" series.
  3. Connect the WiFi Adapter to an AC power source.
  4. Confirm the indicator light on the WiFi Adapter is rapidly blinking (not yet connected to the internet).
  5. On the "Enter Wi-Fi Password" page, click "OK" and then proceed to the "Connecting" page.
  6. Long press the small hole on the WiFi Adapter with a small screwdriver until the blue light lights up, then remove the screwdriver. The blue light will slowly blink, indicating it's in intelligent distribution network state.
  7. Follow the app prompts to complete the connection.

Note: With a BT Adapter, the Tuya app unlock range is within 10m (Bluetooth transmission range). With a WiFi Adapter, there is no distance limitation for app remote control.

7.3. Automatic Lock Function

The lock features an automatically locked adjusted device. You can enable or disable this function:

  • Push the key toward the left to close the automatically locked function.
  • Push the key toward the right to open the automatically locked function.

7.4. Low Power Reminder

The lock provides clear indications for low battery:

  • If the main system power is lower than 20%, the lock will alarm.
  • If the main system power is lower than 10%, the lock will automatically switch to the standby system.
  • If the standby system power is lower than 20%, the lock will alarm when you press a remote controller.
  • If the standby system power is lower than 10%, the lock will unlock automatically.

7.5. Indoor Touch Operation

To open or close the lock from indoors, simply touch the designated areas on the lock body:

  • Indoor Unlocked Area: Touch this area to unlock.
  • Indoor Locked Area: Touch this area to lock.

7.6. Emergency Manual Unlocked Key

In case of emergency or if the lock is broken down, push the emergency manual unlocked key to unlock from indoors.

7.7. Resetting Codes

If you lose a remote controller, or purchase a new extra remote controller or BT/WiFi adapter, you must reset the codes for all devices. Gather all existing remote controllers (the new one and any remaining ones) and the app (if applicable) to set a new code with the lock by following the remote controller pairing steps (Section 7.1).

Important Notice:

Unless you are adding or replacing a remote controller/adapter, do not press the setting key, as it will delete all previously stored data.

8. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: Replace the 4 AA batteries in the main lock when the low power reminder activates. For remote controllers, replace the CR2032 (3V) lithium battery when its power is low.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the lock body. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
  • Regular Checks: Periodically check the lock's mounting screws and the lock catch for tightness and proper alignment.
  • Software Updates: For Tuya App-enabled locks, ensure your app and adapter firmware are up to date for optimal performance and security.

9. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Lock does not respond to remote controller. Remote battery is dead; Remote not paired; Lock batteries are dead. Replace remote battery; Re-pair remote controller (Section 7.1); Replace lock batteries.
Lock makes alarm sound. Low battery in main or standby system. Replace the 4 AA batteries in the main lock immediately.

Main motor is broken down. Mechanical failure. Use the standby motor via remote controller or the emergency manual unlocked key. Contact support for repair.

10. User Tips

  • Battery Life: To maximize battery life, consider using high-quality alkaline batteries. If the lock is used frequently (e.g., 10 times a day), expect to replace batteries annually.
  • Remote Control Range: While the stated range is 20m without obstacles, actual performance may vary depending on environmental factors like walls and interference. Test the range in your specific installation environment.
  • App Connectivity: For Tuya App users, a WiFi adapter offers unlimited distance control, which is highly recommended for remote access beyond Bluetooth range.
  • Emergency Access: Always be aware of the emergency manual unlocked key's location and how to use it. This is crucial for access during power failures or lock malfunctions.
  • Security Best Practices: Even with an invisible lock, ensure your door itself is robust and secure. Regularly check the physical installation for any signs of tampering or loosening.
