6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Print Head

To ensure optimal print quality, regularly clean the thermal print head:

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  2. Open the paper compartment cover.
  3. Gently wipe the print head with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Allow it to dry completely before closing the cover and powering on.

6.2 Paper Storage

Thermal paper is sensitive to heat, light, and certain chemicals. Store thermal paper in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent premature fading or damage.

6.3 Battery Care

  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • If storing the printer for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% and store it in a cool, dry place. Recharge every few months to maintain battery health.
  • Use only the provided charging cable or a compatible 5V/2A Type-C charger.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Printer not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the printer to a power source using the Type-C cable and try again.
  • No print output / Blank pages:
    • Verify that thermal paper is loaded correctly and is not upside down. Thermal paper has a specific side for printing.
    • Confirm that you are using thermal paper, not regular A4 paper. This printer is designed exclusively for thermal paper.
    • Check if the print head is clean and free from debris.
  • Poor print quality / Faded prints:
    • The thermal paper might be old or improperly stored. Try new thermal paper.
    • Clean the print head as described in the Maintenance section.
    • Ensure the battery has sufficient charge. Low battery can affect print quality.
  • Bluetooth connection issues:
    • Make sure the printer is within range of your device.
    • Restart both the printer and your mobile device.
    • Forget the device in your phone's Bluetooth settings and re-pair.
    • Ensure the "ScanPrint" app has Bluetooth permissions enabled.
  • USB connection issues (PC):
    • Verify that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the PC.
    • Ensure the correct printer drivers are installed on your computer.
    • Try a different USB port on your computer or a different USB cable.

8. User Tips

  • Thermal Paper Only: Remember that this printer uses thermal paper exclusively. Regular A4 paper will not work. Always keep a supply of compatible thermal paper on hand.
  • Optimize Battery Life: For longer printing sessions, consider connecting the printer via USB to a power source, as it supports charging while printing.
  • Portability Advantage: At just 635g, this printer is highly portable. Utilize its compact size by carrying it in your backpack for on-the-go printing needs, whether for work, school, or travel.
  • Versatile Printing: Don't limit yourself to just documents. Experiment with printing photos, labels, or even tattoo stencils using the appropriate software and thermal paper.
