1. Safety Information

WARNING: Please read this manual carefully before operating the electric bicycle. Failure to follow instructions can result in serious injury or property damage.

• Protective Equipment: Always wear appropriate protective equipment, including a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads, while riding.

• Pre-Ride Check: Before each ride, ensure the brakes are functioning correctly, tires are properly inflated, the battery is securely installed, and all fasteners are tight.

• Visibility: Use the integrated headlight and taillight, especially during low-light conditions. Consider wearing reflective clothing.

• Weather Conditions: Exercise caution when riding in wet or slippery conditions. The IPX4 water resistance protects against splashes but not submersion.

3. Specifications

4. Setup

Your ESKUTE D100 electric bicycle comes partially assembled. Follow these steps for initial setup:

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the bicycle and all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.

2. Handlebar Installation: Unfold the handlebar stem and secure it in the upright position. Adjust the handlebar height to a comfortable level and tighten the quick-release lever or bolts.

3. Saddle Installation: Insert the seat post into the frame. Adjust the saddle height to ensure your feet can comfortably touch the ground when stopped. Secure the quick-release lever.

4. Pedal Installation: Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. The left pedal screws counter-clockwise, and the right pedal screws clockwise. Ensure they are tightened securely.

5. Initial Battery Charge: Before your first ride, fully charge the battery. Connect the charger to the battery charging port and then to a power outlet. The indicator light on the charger will change (e.g., from red to green) when fully charged. This typically takes 7-8 hours.

6. Tire Inflation: Check the tire pressure and inflate to the recommended PSI (usually indicated on the tire sidewall) using a bicycle pump.

7. Brake Check: Test both front and rear brakes to ensure they engage smoothly and effectively. Adjust cable tension if necessary.

8. Folding Mechanism: Familiarize yourself with the folding mechanism for convenient storage and transport. Ensure all folding joints are securely locked before riding.

5. Operation

5.1 Powering On/Off

• To Power On: Press and hold the power button on the LCD display for a few seconds until the screen illuminates.

• To Power Off: Press and hold the power button again until the screen turns off.

5.2 Using the LCD Display

The LCD display provides essential riding information:

• Speed: Displays current riding speed.

• Battery Level: Shows the remaining battery charge.

• Assistance Level: Indicates the current pedal assist level (usually 3 levels).

• Riding Status: May show distance, trip time, etc.

5.3 Pedal Assist Levels

The ESKUTE D100 features 3-speed pedal assist levels. Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the control panel to cycle through these levels. Higher levels provide more motor assistance.

5.4 USB Charging Port

The integrated USB charging port allows you to charge your mobile devices while riding. Locate the USB port on the display unit and connect your device using a compatible cable.

5.5 Braking

The e-bike is equipped with front and rear disc brakes. Apply both brakes simultaneously for effective and controlled stopping. The brakes also feature a power-off system that cuts motor assistance when engaged.

5.6 Adjusting Saddle and Handlebars

To adjust the saddle or handlebar height, open the quick-release lever, move the component to the desired height, and securely close the lever. Ensure the minimum insertion mark on the seat post is not visible.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your ESKUTE D100 electric bicycle.

• Battery Care:

  • Charge the battery regularly, even if not in use, to maintain its health. Avoid completely draining the battery.

  • Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

  • If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to 50-70% capacity and recharge every 1-2 months.

• Tires:

  • Check tire pressure before each ride and inflate to the recommended PSI.

  • Inspect tires for wear, cuts, or punctures regularly.

• Brakes:

  • Regularly check brake pads for wear and replace them when necessary.

  • Ensure brake levers are firm and responsive. Adjust cable tension if there is too much slack.

  • Keep disc rotors clean and free from oil or grease.

• Cleaning:

  • Clean the bicycle with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on electrical components.

  • Do not submerge the battery or motor in water.

• Fasteners:

  • Periodically check all bolts, nuts, and quick-release levers to ensure they are securely tightened.

• Chain:

  • Keep the chain clean and lubricated for smooth operation and to prevent rust.

7. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:

• E-bike does not power on:

  • Check if the battery is properly inserted and locked.

  • Ensure the battery is charged.

  • Verify all electrical connections are secure.

• Motor not providing assistance:

  • Check the battery level; it might be too low.

  • Ensure the pedal assist level is not set to '0' or off.

  • Check if brake levers are fully released, as the power-off system might be engaged.

• Brakes feel weak or spongy:

  • Inspect brake pads for wear and replace if needed.

  • Check brake cable tension and adjust if loose.

  • Ensure disc rotors are clean.

• Unusual noises during riding:

  • Check for loose components or fasteners.

  • Inspect the chain for proper lubrication and tension.

  • Examine tires for foreign objects.

• LCD display not working:

  • Ensure the main power is on and the battery has charge.

  • Check connections to the display unit.
