Setup

1. Battery Installation and Charging

The NANWEI Impact Driver uses a 20V Lithium-Ion battery. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

  1. To install the battery, align the battery pack with the slot in the tool handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
  2. To remove the battery, press the release button on the battery pack and slide it out.
  3. To charge the battery, connect the charger to a power outlet and insert the battery pack into the charger. The indicator lights on the battery or charger will show the charging status.

2. Bit Installation (Hexagonal Collet)

The impact driver features a triple-ball hexagonal collet for quick and secure bit changes.

  1. Pull the collet sleeve forward to unlock the chuck.
  2. Insert the 1/4 inch (6.35mm) hexagonal shank bit fully into the chuck.
  3. Release the collet sleeve. The bit should be securely locked in place by the three steel balls.
  4. To remove the bit, pull the collet sleeve forward and pull the bit out.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off and Variable Speed Control

The tool is activated by pressing the activation switch. The speed is infinitely variable depending on the pressure applied to the switch.

  • Press the activation switch lightly for slow rotation and precise control.
  • Press the activation switch fully for maximum speed and power.
  • Releasing the switch automatically stops the tool.

2. Forward/Reverse Switch

The forward/reverse switch is located above the activation switch. It controls the direction of rotation.

  • Push the switch to the left for forward (tightening) rotation.
  • Push the switch to the right for reverse (loosening) rotation.
  • Center the switch to lock the tool and prevent accidental activation.

3. Four-Speed Torque Adjustment with Memory Function

The impact driver features four distinct speed and torque modes, suitable for various applications. The tool also has a memory function that retains the last selected gear when switching between forward and reverse rotation.

  • Mode 1 (Wood Model): 60 N.m torque, 1200 r/min. Suitable for soft materials.
  • Mode 2 (Thin Iron Function): 120 N.m torque, 1800 r/min. Suitable for thin metal materials.
  • Mode 3 (Thick Iron Function): 180 N.m torque, 2400 r/min. Suitable for thicker metal materials.
  • Mode 4 (Full Speed Mode): 240 N.m torque, 3000 r/min. For all kinds of materials requiring maximum power.

To adjust the gear, use the gear adjustment switch (turn clockwise or counter-clockwise as indicated on the tool). The current mode is displayed on the battery indicator panel.

The tool also features an unscrewed self-stop function to prevent screws from falling out during loosening operations.

4. LED Lighting

The integrated LED light automatically illuminates the work area when the activation switch is pressed, providing better visibility in dimly lit spaces.
