4. Safety Notes

WARNING: Improper installation can lead to electric shock or device damage. Always follow these safety guidelines.

  • This product is designed for European and Chinese standard in-wall installation.
  • Installation must be performed by qualified professional electricians.
  • Before any installation or wiring, always turn off the main power at the electricity box. Use an electric tester to ensure the live wire is not active.
  • Keep this product away from fire and water during installation and use.
  • Do not use this product in moist environments such as bathrooms.

5. Setup and Installation

5.1. Installation Preparations

  1. Ensure you have a Zigbee gateway that supports wireless Zigbee connection. Verify that the gateway is already connected to your mobile app and is functioning correctly.
  2. The product requires both neutral and live wires for power. Please ensure the neutral wire is properly arranged in advance.
  3. Prepare necessary tools: screwdriver, electric tester, electrical tape, etc.
  4. For optimal electricity safety and wireless performance, use a plastic wall electrical box instead of a metallic one.
  5. Never attempt installation or wiring while the power is on.

5.2. Physical Installation Instructions

  1. Turn off the main power at the electricity box and use a test pencil to confirm that the live wire in the wall electrical box is not active.
  2. Remove the base of the smart switch.
  3. Install the base into the wall box. Refer to the installation diagram below for guidance.

  5. Perform wired connections according to the diagrams in Section 5.3.
  6. After wiring, check all connections to ensure wires are in good contact with the terminals and no bare copper wires are exposed.
  7. Fasten the base to the wall electrical box using the provided mounting screws.
  8. Fix the smart switch panel back onto the base.
  9. Important Notes:

    • Do not overtighten the screws during installation, as this may cause deformation or damage to the screen and hardware.
    • If the smart switch panel is not flat after installation, do not forcefully press the screen. Instead, re-check the wall box and base installation for proper alignment.

5.3. Wired Connection Instructions

Note: Ensure the circuit power is cut off before making any wire connections!

Please select the correct wiring diagram based on the specific smart wall switch model you have purchased. You can also find a wiring diagram on the back of the panel itself.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. App Download and Gateway Connection

  1. Download the “Smart Life” or “Tuya Smart” App from Google Play (for Android) or Apple App Store (for iOS) on your smartphone.
  2. Ensure that your phone's Wi-Fi network is the same as the network your Zigbee gateway is connected to.
  3. Complete the networking configuration for your gateway according to its specific manual or the prompts within the app. Verify that the gateway is working normally before proceeding.

6.2. Adding the Smart Wall Switch to the App

  1. Log in to the “Smart Life” or “Tuya Smart” app.
  2. Click the “+” icon (usually in the top right corner) to “add device”.
  3. On the smart wall switch panel, navigate to the “Settings” interface, then select “ZigBee” and then “Network”. Click the appropriate icon to initiate network pairing.
  4. Return to the app and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection process.

6.3. Panel Control Overview

The 4-inch HD touch screen provides an intuitive interface for controlling your smart home devices.

The main interface typically displays a dynamic clock, date, and quick access icons for various functions:

  • Scene: Access and activate predefined smart scenes.
  • Switch: Control individual light switches.
  • Dimmer: Adjust brightness and color temperature of dimmable lights.
  • Curtain: Control smart curtains, roller blinds, or window screens.
  • Device: Manage other connected smart devices.

6.4. Setting Scenes via the App

To configure custom scenes that can be activated from the panel:

  1. In the mobile app, navigate to the “Scene Switch” interface.
  2. Select a scene slot, for example, “Scene 10”.
  3. Change the scene name (e.g., to “Home Mode”).
  4. Click “Scene Setting” and then “Add Scene”.
  5. Configure the desired actions for this scene (e.g., turn on specific lights, adjust brightness, close curtains).
  6. Select the scene you wish to bind to this slot and click “Save”.

6.5. Controlling Devices via Scene

Once a scene is set up, you can control multiple devices with a single command. For example, to control a curtain motor (ensure the device is already added to the gateway and app):

  1. In the mobile app, go to “All Devices”.
  2. Click the “switch icon” for the relevant device.
  3. Select “Scene Switch” and then choose an action like “curtain open”.
  4. Click “Save” and bind this action to a specific scene.

6.6. Modifying Scene and Switch Icon Names on the Panel

To personalize the names displayed on the panel:

  • For Scenes: On the panel's scene interface, long-press the scene icon you wish to modify. Select the icon, enter a new name, and save. The new name will appear under the icon.
  • For Switches: Similarly, on the panel's switch interface, long-press the switch icon to modify it. Select the icon, enter a new name, and save.

6.7. Using Light Dimming

For dimmable lights connected to the panel:

  1. On the device interface of the panel, click the icon of the lamp you want to dim.
  2. Adjust the brightness and color temperature as required using the on-screen controls.

6.8. Controlling Curtains, Roller Blinds, and Window Screens

The panel supports direct control of smart curtains and similar devices:

  1. Navigate to the “Curtain” section on the panel.
  2. You will see controls for individual smart curtains (e.g., Smart curtain 1, 2, 3, 4).
  3. Use the “Open”, “Pause”, and “Close” buttons to operate each curtain.

6.9. Switch Display Mode on the First Screen

You can customize what is displayed on the panel's main screen:

  1. Go to the “Settings” interface on the panel.
  2. Select “First screen”.
  3. Choose the desired display mode (e.g., to show scene mode).
  4. Return to the switch interface to see the updated display.

6.10. Multi-Device Connection and Application

6.11. App Remote Control

The mobile app allows you to intelligently control connected devices remotely, whether you are at home or away. Devices are organized in an orderly manner within the app, enabling you to quickly find and control corresponding devices, enhancing your smart life experience.

7. Maintenance

  • To clean the screen, gently wipe it with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or aerosol sprays.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Ensure the device is kept dry and away from moisture.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device not responding: Check if the main power is on. Verify all wiring connections are secure. Ensure the Zigbee gateway is online and connected to the app.
  • Cannot connect to App: Confirm your phone and gateway are on the same Wi-Fi network. Restart the app and try the pairing process again. Ensure the device is in pairing mode.
  • Screen unresponsive: Gently clean the screen. If the issue persists, try restarting the device by temporarily cutting power at the circuit breaker.
  • Scene not activating: Double-check the scene settings in the app to ensure all devices and actions are correctly configured and bound.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure your Zigbee gateway is centrally located within your home to provide strong signal coverage to all connected devices.
  • Regularly check the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app for firmware updates for both the control panel and your gateway to ensure you have the latest features and security patches.
  • When setting up complex scenes, test each component individually first to ensure they are functioning correctly before combining them into a single scene.

10. Warranty and Support

10.1. Warranty Policy

In compliance with relevant consumer protection laws, we provide the following warranty services:

  • Within 7 days from acceptance date: Free product replacement or refund for any performance problem.
  • Within 8 to 15 days from acceptance date: Free product repair or replacement for any performance problem.
  • Within 12 months from acceptance date: Free product repair for any performance problem.

10.2. What Is Not Covered Under This Warranty

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by unauthorized repair, misuse, collision, negligence, abuse, liquid injection, accident, alteration, or use of non-native accessories.
  • Damage resulting from tearing or coating labels or the anti-counterfeiting mark.
  • Products where the warranty service period has expired.
  • Damage caused by force majeure (e.g., natural disasters).
  • Other damage or faults not attributable to product design, technology, manufacturing, or quality issues.
