4. Installation

The power supply is designed for 35mm DIN rail mounting. Ensure the DIN rail is securely installed in your enclosure before attaching the power supply. The compact design helps save space and simplifies maintenance.

4.1. Wiring Diagrams

5. Operation

Once properly installed and wired, the power supply will convert the DC 12-24V input to an isolated and adjustable DC 0-24V output. The output voltage can be adjusted as per your application requirements. The device features indicator lights for power (solid red) and communication (flashing blue) to provide visual status.

5.1. Modbus Communication Setup

The device supports Modbus communication via its RS-485 interface. Follow these steps for setup:

  1. Hardware Connection: Connect the RS485 serial ports, connecting A to A and B to B. Connect the power supply, voltage to be measured, and load according to the wiring diagram (Figure 4 and Figure 5).
  2. Software Setup:
    • Set the serial port number in the "Communication Settings" section. The default baud rate is 9600.
    • Click "Open".
    • Set the communication address in the "Change Module Address" section (the default address is "1." If the address is unclear, you can change it directly).
    • Click "Acquire".

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power Indication: Ensure the input voltage (DC 12-24V) is correctly applied to the VI+ and VI- terminals and that the power source is active.
  • No Output Voltage: Verify the load is correctly connected to VO+ and VO- and that the output voltage setting is appropriate for your application.
  • Communication Error: If a "Communication Error" message appears during Modbus software setup, verify that the RS485 port A and B are connected correctly (A to A, B to B). Check the serial port settings (baud rate, parity, data bits, stop bits) in your software match the device's default or configured settings.
  • Unstable Output: Check for loose wiring connections or excessive load that might exceed the 15W maximum output power.

  • Always double-check wiring before applying power to prevent damage to the device or connected equipment.
  • When adjusting the output voltage, it is recommended to do so with no load or a minimal load to ensure accurate readings and prevent overvoltage to sensitive components.
  • For long-term reliability in industrial environments, ensure proper ventilation around the power supply to dissipate heat effectively.
