Maintenance

  • Software Updates

Regularly check for and install software updates via the mobile app. LeeKooLuu provides lifetime free software updates to ensure compatibility with new vehicle models and to enhance diagnostic capabilities.

  • Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Keep the OBD2 connector free from dirt and debris.

  • Storage

Store the YM529 in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep the cable neatly coiled to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting

  • Device Does Not Power On

Ensure the OBD2 connector is securely plugged into the vehicle's DLC. Verify that the vehicle's ignition is in the 'ON' position (engine off or running, depending on the test). Check the vehicle's fuse for the OBD2 port if the issue persists.

  • Cannot Connect to Mobile App

Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on both the YM529 (press 'BT' button) and your smartphone. Ensure the app is installed and open. Keep the device within the 32.8 ft (10m) Bluetooth range. Restart both the device and the app if necessary.

  • Codes Not Clearing

After clearing codes, some DTCs may reappear if the underlying issue is not resolved. Address the root cause of the fault before attempting to clear codes again. Some monitors may require specific driving cycles to reset.

  • No Communication with Vehicle

Verify that your vehicle is OBD2 compliant (North American vehicles after 1996, European vehicles after 2003, 12V gasoline vehicles). Check the connection to the DLC. Try the scanner on another compatible vehicle to rule out a scanner fault.
