Paulkitson P16-M 16-Channel Digital Personal Mixer

Model: P16-M | Brand: PaulKitson

1. Introduction and Overview

The Paulkitson P16-M is a 16-channel digital personal mixer designed to provide musicians and vocalists with individual control over their monitor mixes in live or recording environments. This system allows performers to customize their audio experience, freeing the sound engineer to focus on the overall mix quality.

The P16-M integrates seamlessly into a digital audio ecosystem through ULTRANET technology. Developed by engineers from Klark Teknik, Midas, and Turbosound, ULTRANET transmits up to 16 independent channels of 24-bit digital audio and control data over a single CAT5 cable. This digital networking approach eliminates common issues found in traditional analog systems, such as Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and signal crosstalk, ensuring pristine audio quality and simplifying setup.

Key features include audiophile-grade sonic performance, 16 storable presets for custom mixes, and 16 Channel Select buttons with dual LED indicators for clear visual reference. The mixer also incorporates global EQ controls and a robust output level control for optimal sound.

A basic system typically involves one P16-I Input Module connected to the main mixing console, which then distributes audio to up to six P16-M Personal Mixers. For larger setups, up to six P16-D Digital ULTRANET Distributors can be added, supporting up to forty-eight P16-M Personal Mixers.
