Compatibility

This keyboard is specifically designed for the Microsoft Surface Pro 12 inch (2025) tablet. It is not compatible with other Surface Pro models (e.g., 13" Surface Pro 11/10/9/8/X or 12.3" Surface Pro 7+/7/6/5/4).

Setup Guide

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, please charge the keyboard for 2 to 3 hours to ensure it has sufficient power for operation.

2. Attaching the Keyboard to your Surface Pro

The keyboard attaches magnetically to your Surface Pro tablet. Align the magnetic connector on the keyboard with the corresponding port on your tablet until it snaps into place.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Ensure the keyboard is charged and powered on.
  2. On your Microsoft Surface Pro, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
  3. Turn on Bluetooth.
  4. Select Add device and choose Bluetooth.
  5. The keyboard should appear in the list of available devices (e.g., "MoKo Keyboard"). Select it to pair.
  6. No PIN is required for pairing.

4. Trackpad Protective Film

Please remember to peel off the protective film from the trackpad before using it for the first time to ensure proper functionality.

Operating Instructions

1. Backlight Control

The keyboard features 7 LED backlight colors and 2 levels of brightness for each color. Use the dedicated backlight keys (usually indicated by a light bulb icon or similar) to cycle through colors and adjust brightness. This allows for comfortable typing in low-light conditions.

2. Using the Multi-touch Trackpad

The built-in responsive trackpad allows for precise navigation and control, similar to a mouse. It supports various multi-touch gestures:

  • Toggle Trackpad: Press Fn + Space to turn the touchpad on or off.
  • Mouse Scroll Wheel: Use two fingers to scroll up or down.
  • Browse the Web: Swipe with two fingers to navigate web pages.
  • Switch Apps: Use three fingers to switch between open applications.

3. Function Keys

The keyboard includes dedicated function keys (F1-F12) and Copilot keys to enhance productivity. These keys provide quick access to system functions and media controls.

4. Usage Modes

The keyboard can be used in two primary ways with your Surface Pro:

  • Flat Mode: The keyboard lies flat on a surface, providing a stable typing experience.
  • Folded Mode: The keyboard is angled upwards, providing a more ergonomic typing position.

Maintenance

1. Charging the Battery

Charge the keyboard using the provided Type-C cable. Connect one end to the keyboard's charging port and the other to a compatible USB power source. The charging indicator light will show the charging status.

Important Note:

  • Do not charge the keyboard for prolonged periods of time. Extended continuous charging can negatively impact the battery's lifespan.

2. Cleaning

To clean the keyboard, gently wipe the surface with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild electronic cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Troubleshooting

Keyboard Not Connecting via Bluetooth

  • Check Battery: Ensure the keyboard is sufficiently charged.
  • Power On: Make sure the keyboard is powered on.
  • Re-pair: Delete the keyboard from your Surface Pro's Bluetooth device list and attempt to pair it again.
  • Distance: Ensure the keyboard is within the effective operating range (33 feet / 10 meters) of your tablet.
  • Interference: Move away from other wireless devices that might cause interference.

Trackpad Not Responding

  • Protective Film: Verify that the protective film has been removed from the trackpad surface.
  • Toggle On/Off: Press Fn + Space to ensure the trackpad is enabled.
  • Reboot: Restart your Surface Pro and try again.

Backlight Not Working

  • Check Battery: Low battery can affect backlight functionality. Charge the keyboard.
  • Brightness Levels: Cycle through the brightness levels using the backlight control keys.

User Tips

  • For optimal trackpad performance, always remove the protective film before use.
  • To preserve battery health, avoid leaving the keyboard plugged in for charging for extended periods after it's fully charged.
  • The keyboard does not feature an AI button.
  • This keyboard is designed with an English layout only.
  • The pen slot on the keyboard does not have a charging function for your stylus.
