1. Introduction

The RAYKUBE A1 Pro is a smart door lock designed for easy installation and versatile access control. It integrates with the Tuya Smart Life app, offering multiple unlocking methods including fingerprint, password, smart key fob, and remote control via a Bluetooth gateway. This manual provides detailed instructions for installation, setup, operation, and maintenance of your A1 Pro smart door lock system.

The A1 Pro is designed to convert your current door lock into a smart lock without extensive dismantling, using a peel-and-stick method for quick setup, or permanent screw-based installation for added security.

Note: The FPT1 Wireless Fingerprint Keypad must be paired with an A1 Pro/A1 Pro Max/A1 Ultra series smart lock from RAYKUBE and cannot function independently.

4. Installation

The RAYKUBE A1 Pro smart lock offers a punch-free installation method, allowing you to convert your existing door lock without complex modifications. For permanent installation, screws are provided.

4.1 Door Type Compatibility

The A1 Pro Max Set is designed to adapt to 99.9% of door locks, suitable for most American and European locks. Interchangeable inserts make it compatible with various lock types, including fission and conjoined locks.

Note: This smart lock is not applicable to doors without a handle on the outside.

4.2 Installation Steps (General)

The installation process is designed to be quick and easy, often referred to as "peel and stick" for non-permanent setups.

4.2.1 Fission Lock Installation

  1. Clean the surface of your door where the lock will be adhered.
  2. Align the mounting plate into the card.
  3. Align the center of the knob with the crossed red line on the mounting plate, attach the mounting plate to the door, and then remove the card.
  4. Open the main body battery cover.
  5. Install 4 AA batteries (not included).
  6. Install the main body onto the mounting plate.
  7. For thin knobs: Find the Clamp Gasket and fix it on the thin knob.
  8. For short knobs: Open the knob of the main body, push out Clamp A, insert Clamp B, and then return the knob to its original position.
  9. Lock the screws on both sides.
  10. Close the battery cover. The hardware installation is complete.

4.2.2 Conjoined Lock Installation

  1. Clean the surface for adhesion.
  2. Measure the thickness of the door lock, select the appropriate gasket and sticker, and attach it to the mounting plate.
  3. Remove the screw 1 cm out from the door lock, aim the mounting plate into the card, align the center of the knob with the crossed red line, attach the mounting plate to the door, remove the card, and lock the screw back to its original positioning.
  4. Open the main body battery cover.
  5. Install 4 AA batteries (not included).
  6. Install the main body onto the mounting plate.
  7. For thin knobs: Find the Clamp Gasket and fix it on the thin knob.

5. Setup

5.1 App Installation and Account Setup

  1. Download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life APP by scanning the QR code provided in the manual or searching "Smart Life" on the App Store / Google Play.
  2. Create a new account or log in with an existing account.

5.2 Adding Smart Lock to the App

  1. Start the APP and select "Add Device".
  2. Select "Auto Scan". After the device is found, click "Next".
  3. After the device is added, click "Done".
  4. Select the smart lock device, and then click "OK". When the pop-up box is displayed, select "Immediately to join".

The first time you open the door with the APP, the device will calibrate the lock position. Please ensure that the device has been properly installed on the door lock.

5.3 Adding Smart Lock to Gateway (for remote access)

All Smart Locks are Bluetooth-enabled, but require a separate gateway to enable remote access and smart home integration.

  1. Select "Gateway" in the APP, then click "Add device by list".
  2. Select the device in the gateway sub-device list, then click "Opening / Closing" to unlock and lock the door.

The mini Smart Gateway developed by Tuya consists of a highly integrated Wi-Fi module, low power-consuming Bluetooth module, and PCBA. It connects to the Tuya Smart app for device adding, reset, third-party control, and Bluetooth group control, meeting smart home requirements.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Unlocking and Locking Methods

  • APP Control: Use the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app on your smartphone to unlock or lock the door.
  • Knob: Manually turn the knob on the smart lock.
  • Keypad (FPT1 accessory): Enter your password on the wireless keypad.
  • Fingerprint (FPT1 accessory): Use your registered fingerprint on the keypad.
  • Smart Key (KT1 accessory): One click to open, double click to unlock.
  • Mechanical Key: In emergencies, you can still unlock your door with a traditional mechanical key.

6.2 Temporary Access Keys & Guest Access

The Tuya App allows you to create temporary access keys for specific users or guests, such as Airbnb guests or delivery personnel. These keys can be scheduled for specific dates and times, and all access is controlled and monitored from the app.

6.3 Voice Control Integration

Pair your Smart Lock with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to enable voice commands for locking, unlocking, and checking the status of your door.

6.4 Automatic Locking

The Smart Lock supports setting a timer to automatically lock the door after a specified period.

6.5 Operation Record Trace

The Tuya App informs you of the virtual key's operation in real-time and provides a record. With the Tuya App, you can remotely issue virtual keys and withdraw them whenever you want, keeping track of who enters and exits.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Battery Replacement

The device will emit beeps when the battery is low, indicating that the batteries need to be replaced. The A1 Pro smart lock uses 4 AA batteries, and the FPT1 keypad uses 2 AA batteries. The Smart Key (KT1) uses a CR2032 battery.

Warning: The battery may overheat if dismantled, impacted, squeezed, put into fire, soaked, or if metal contacts or electrodes short, which may cause a fire or explosion hazard.

7.2 Unbinding Device

To unbind the device:

  1. First, delete the device in the APP.
  2. Then, press the "SET" button on the bottom of the battery case for 5 seconds until you hear a beep. The device is now unbound.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Incorrect Rotation Direction

If you find that the rotation of the smart lock is opposite to the direction of your door lock, you can correct this in the app:

  • Click the settings icon in the app.
  • Set the rotation direction to "anticlockwise unlock" or "clockwise unlock" as needed.

8.2 Calibration Issues

If the rotation is inaccurate during use, you can recalibrate the lock:

  • In the APP, navigate to "Setting/Calibration".
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to perform calibration.

8.3 Checking Battery Status

You can check the battery status of your smart lock directly from the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.

9. User Tips

  • Temporary Access: Utilize the temporary access key feature for visitors or service providers to grant access for limited durations, enhancing security and convenience.
  • Remote Monitoring: Connect the smart lock to a Bluetooth gateway to monitor door activity and control the lock remotely via the app, even when you're away.
  • Voice Control: For hands-free operation, integrate your smart lock with Alexa or Google Assistant to use voice commands for locking and unlocking.
  • Automatic Locking: Take advantage of the automatic locking feature by setting a timer in the app to ensure your door is always secured after closing.
  • Battery Life: Pay attention to the low battery alerts and replace batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Keep spare batteries on hand.
