5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device (refer to Figure 3).
- Use the provided screwdriver to open the battery cover.
- Insert two (2) AAA 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Batteries are not included.
- Close the battery cover and secure it with the screw.
5.2 Initial Power On
Press the ON/Measure (DIST) button to power on the device. The display will light up.

6.1 Basic Measurements
6.1.1 Tape Measure Function
Pull out the physical tape measure from the device. The tape extends up to 5 meters (16 feet) and features both metric (centimeters, meters) and imperial (inches, feet) markings.
6.1.2 Laser Distance Measurement
- Press the ON/Measure (DIST) button to activate the laser.
- Point the laser at the target.
- Press the ON/Measure (DIST) button again to take a measurement. The distance will be displayed on the screen.
- For continuous measurement, press and hold the ON/Measure (DIST) button.
6.2 Advanced Functions
6.2.1 Unit Conversion
To change the measurement unit (meters, inches, feet), long press the UNIT button. The display will cycle through the available units.

To change the measurement reference point (Post-datum/Predatum), short press the UNIT button.
6.2.2 Cross Laser Function
Long press the Clear/OFF button to activate the cross-line laser. This projects horizontal and vertical laser lines for leveling and alignment tasks.


6.2.3 Area, Volume, and Pythagorean Measurements
Press the FUNC button to cycle through different measurement modes. Follow the on-screen prompts to take the necessary measurements for each calculation:
- Area Measurement: Measure length and width.
- Volume Measurement: Measure length, width, and height.
- Pythagorean Measurement: For indirect measurements using the Pythagorean theorem.

6.3 Data Storage
The device features automatic data storage, allowing you to review previous measurements. Consult the on-screen interface for navigation and recall of stored data.
