1. Introduction

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the radio is powered off.
  2. Align the battery with the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
  3. Gently push the battery into place until it clicks securely.

3.2 Charging the Battery

The radio offers dual charging options: Type-C direct charging and base charging.

  • Type-C Charging: Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the radio's charging port and a compatible USB power adapter.
  • Base Charging: Place the radio into the charging base. Ensure the charging contacts on the radio align with those on the base. The indicator light on the base will show the charging status.

Charging current is approximately 500mA, and a full charge takes less than 4 hours.

3.3 Attaching the Antenna

Screw the detachable antenna clockwise onto the antenna connector on top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

3.4 Attaching the Belt Clip and Strap

Secure the belt clip to the back of the radio using the provided screws. Attach the hand strap to the designated loop for added security.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control

  • To power on the radio, rotate the VOL (Volume) knob clockwise until you hear a click.
  • To power off, rotate the VOL knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.
  • Adjust the volume by rotating the VOL knob.

4.2 Channel Selection

  • Rotate the CH (Channel) knob to select one of the 16 available channels.
  • Ensure all radios in your group are on the same channel for communication.

4.3 Making Calls (PTT)

  • To transmit, press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone.
  • Release the PTT button to receive.

4.4 Team Management Features

The P4/P64 supports various calling modes for efficient team communication:

  • Single Call: Communicate privately with a specific individual.
  • Group Call: Communicate with a predefined group of radios.
  • All Call: Broadcast a message to all radios within range on the current channel.

4.5 Digital and Analog Modes

4.7 Customizable Side Keys

4.8 Channel Lock

4.9 Emergency Alarm

4.10 Low Battery Alert
