Powering the Device

The SMC-PAD can be powered in two ways:

  1. Internal Battery: The device includes a 2000mAh rechargeable battery. The power indicator light illuminates red while charging and turns green when fully charged.

Connecting to a Device

The SMC-PAD offers both wired and wireless connectivity options:

Wired Connection (USB-C)

Wireless Connection (Bluetooth)

The SMC-PAD supports wireless MIDI connection via Bluetooth. To connect wirelessly:

Control Panel Overview

Default Pad Assignments:

  • PAD1-PAD4 (Presets): 1/4, 1/4T, 1/8, 1/8T
  • PAD5-PAD8 (Presets): 1/16, 1/16T, 1/32, 1/32T
  • PAD9-PAD12 (Velocity): Velocity 1 Swing Off, Velocity 2 Swing 1, Velocity 3 Swing 2, Velocity 4 Swing 3
  • PAD13-PAD16 (Transpose/Octave): Transpose - Swing 4, Transpose + Latch, Octave - Sync, Octave + Tap Tempo

Knobs (8 Assignable Endless Encoders)

The eight endless encoders can be assigned to control parameters such as volume, pan, filter cutoff, or effect send levels within your DAW. Use the 'KNOB BANK' button to switch between different banks of assignments if available.

Dedicated Knobs:

  • TEMPO: Adjusts the tempo.
  • LATCH: Toggles latch mode.
  • RATE: Adjusts the rate.

Assignable Buttons
