6.2 Focusing the Laser

Accurate focusing is crucial for optimal engraving and cutting results. The machine features a 2-in-1 adjustable and fixed lens system.

  1. Adjustable Lens: For fine-tuning, rotate the focus cap on the laser module. A smaller focus results in better engraving effect and higher accuracy.
  2. Fixed Lens (Fixed Focal Length): For consistent results, especially when switching between engraving and cutting, use a fixed thickness board to set the focal length. The best focal length is approximately 40mm from the light exit.

For Engraving: The laser can engrave wood up to 3mm deep. Maintain a focus range of 30-50mm.

For Cutting: The laser can cut wood up to 8mm deep. When cutting, it is critical to use the 'CNC model' setting in your software.
