1. Safety Instructions

Please read the following safety instructions carefully before using the projector to ensure safe and optimal operation.

  • Please read the user manual carefully before using the projector.
  • Please use a standard power cord with ground wire to ensure a stable power supply.
  • Please use the same power voltage as marked on the projector.
  • Please do not disassemble the projector by yourself; otherwise, the warranty will be void.
  • Please do not look into the lens when the projector is working; otherwise, it may hurt your eyes.
  • Please do not cover the projector ventilation holes with any material.
  • Please keep the projector away from water or any other liquid as it is not waterproof.
  • Please don't put the projector in wet or moist conditions to prevent electric shock.
  • Please turn off and unplug from the power supply if not using the projector for a long time.
  • Please use the original packing foam or other anti-shock material when relocating the projector.
  • Please contact our customer support if you encounter any problem with the projector.
  • Not recommended for Powerpoint, Word, Excel, or business presentations.
  • To connect the video projector to PC/laptop, please adjust the PC/laptop display resolution to 1920*1080 for best clarity.
  • Recommended for use in dark rooms. Please draw the curtains if you use it in the daytime.
  • Dolby is not supported.
  • In a residential environment, running this device may cause wireless interference.

2. Product Overview

The VIVICINE F3 is a 1080p Full HD Smart Projector designed for home theater use, featuring auto-focus, auto keystone correction, and an Android 9.0 operating system with built-in streaming apps. It offers a bright and vibrant picture with a fully sealed optical engine for durability.

3. Setup

3.1 Physical Placement

Place the projector on a stable, flat surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit. The projector can be placed in various positions relative to the screen:

  • Front-Desktop Projection: Projector placed in front of the screen on a table.
  • Front-Ceiling Projection: Projector mounted upside down from the ceiling in front of the screen.
  • Rear Desktop Projection: Projector placed behind a translucent screen on a table.
  • Rear Ceiling Projection: Projector mounted upside down from the ceiling behind a translucent screen.

The optimal throw distance ranges from 1.35 to 5.5 meters, producing screen sizes from 43 to 200 inches. For best results, position the projector so its lens is axially symmetric to the screen. If not possible, use the keystone correction features.

3.2 Power On/Off

  1. Connect the power cable to the projector and a power outlet. The projector enters standby mode.
  2. To power on, touch the power button on the projector unit or press the Power On/Off button on the remote control.
  3. The system screen will be displayed after 5-10 seconds.

Upon booting, the projector automatically enters auto-focus mode for instant clarity.

To power off, double-touch the power button on the projector or click the power button on the remote control to display the function prompt and select shutdown.

3.3 Initial Picture Adjustment (Auto Focus & Keystone)

The VIVICINE F3 features intelligent automatic adjustments:

  • Auto Focus: The projector automatically adjusts the focus upon startup to provide a clear image.
  • Auto Keystone Correction: The projector automatically corrects trapezoidal distortion, even when placed at an angle. This includes auto obstacle avoidance and screen fit features.

3.4 Network Connection (Wi-Fi)

  1. Navigate to Settings > Network & Internet.
  2. Turn on Wi-Fi.
  3. Select your Wi-Fi network name from the list.
  4. Enter your Wi-Fi password to connect.

3.5 Bluetooth Connection

  1. Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Click Add accessory to enter the search mode.
  3. On your Bluetooth device (e.g., speaker, headphones), enable Bluetooth pairing mode.
  4. Select your device's Bluetooth name from the list on the projector and pair.

3.6 Connecting External Devices

The projector supports various external input sources:

  • HDMI: Plug an HDMI cable into one of the HDMI jacks on the back of your projector and into the HDMI jack on your device (e.g., laptop, game console). Then, select the corresponding HDMI input source.
  • USB: Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port. The projector will enter fast reading state. Navigate to Media Center > USB disk to select and open files.
  • AV: Plug an AV cable into the AV jack on the back of your projector and into the AV jacks on your device. Then, select the AV input source.
  • LAN: Connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port for a wired network connection.
  • Earphone Out: Connect external speakers or headphones via the 3.5mm audio jack.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Remote Control Functions

The remote control allows for convenient operation of the projector. Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and point the remote at the IR receiver on the projector.

Remote Control Caution:

  • Do not submerge the remote control in water.
  • Do not put the remote control near a fire or in a wet/hot place.
  • Do not use old and new batteries together.
  • Remove batteries if not using for a long time to avoid leakage.
  • Point the remote control at the IR receiver.
  • Use within 6 meters distance and 30-degree angle.

4.2 System Settings

Access system settings from the main menu to customize your projector experience.

  • Projection Settings:
    • Projection: Switch between Front-Desktop, Front-Ceiling, Rear Desktop, and Rear Ceiling projection modes.
    • Zoom Setting: Adjust Horizontal Zoom, Vertical Zoom, or Whole Zoom.
    • Auto Focus: Turn auto-focus on or off.
    • Auto Trapezoid: Turn automatic keystone correction on or off.
    • Horizontal/Vertical Trapezoid Correction: Manual adjustment of trapezoid distortion.
  • Language: Select your preferred language using the arrow keys and confirm with the OK button.
  • Input Source: Manually switch between AV, HDMI1, HDMI2, and USB input sources.
  • Media Center: Browse and play Picture, Audio, or Video files, or access the internal Storage.
  • Software Update: Check for and perform system upgrades.
  • Bluetooth: Manage Bluetooth connections for audio devices.
  • Boot Source: Set the default boot source (Default, Memory, AV, HDMI1, HDMI2).
  • Options & Settings:
    • Network & Internet: Configure Wi-Fi and view IP address.
    • Date & Time: Set automatic or manual date, time, and time zone.
    • Device Preferences: Adjust Language, Boot Mode, Accounts & Sign in, Apps, Keyboard, Sound, Timer, Screen Saver, Local Update, Accessibility, and Reset options.
    • About: View device information such as Device Name, CPU, Memory, Device Space, and Software Version.

4.3 Screen Mirroring

The projector supports screen mirroring from various devices.

  • Miracast (for Android devices):
    1. On the projector, click the Miracast APP to view the device name.
    2. On your Android device, enable Wi-Fi and open the Multi-Screen/Miracast function.
    3. Select the same device name as the projector to connect.
  • Eshare (for iOS and some Android devices):
    1. Connect your device and the projector to the same Wi-Fi network.
    2. Open the Eshare APP on your projector.
    3. For iOS devices: Tap the screen image on your iOS device, search for the projector's device name, and click Connect.
    4. For Android devices: Scan the QR code displayed on the projector screen to download and install the "Eshare" app. After installation, select the file you need to open. (Note: Some Android products may not support Eshare; alternative screen mirroring apps may be used.)

5. Maintenance

5.1 Optical Engine Care

The VIVICINE F3 features a fully sealed optical engine, designed to block dust from the light path. This prevents yellowing and black spots, ensuring a longer lifespan with consistently clear, stable images. No special cleaning of internal optical components is typically required.

5.2 General Cleaning

  • Exterior: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the projector. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Lens: Gently clean the projector lens with a lens cleaning cloth or specialized lens paper. Avoid touching the lens with your fingers.
  • Ventilation: Ensure ventilation holes are clear of obstructions. Periodically use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust from the vents.

5.3 Memory Management

To maintain optimal performance, you can clear the system cache:

  • Navigate to Settings > Memory Clean.
  • Select CLEAN ALL to clear the cache.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Image Issues

  • Blurry Picture:
    • Ensure the projector is placed within the recommended throw distance (1.35-5.5m).
    • Check if Auto Focus is enabled in Projection Settings.
    • Manually adjust focus using the F+ and F- buttons on the remote control.
    • If connecting to a PC/laptop, adjust the display resolution to 1920x1080 for best clarity.
  • Distorted Image (Trapezoid):
    • Ensure Auto Trapezoid is enabled in Projection Settings.
    • If needed, use Horizontal Trapezoid Correction or Vertical Trapezoid Correction for manual fine-tuning.
  • No Image/Signal:
    • Verify the correct input source (HDMI, AV, USB) is selected via the Source button on the remote.
    • Check all cable connections (HDMI, AV, USB) are secure.
    • Ensure the external device is powered on and outputting a signal.

6.2 Network & Connectivity Issues

  • Wi-Fi Connection Failure:
    • Check if the Wi-Fi network is active and the password is correct.
    • Ensure the projector is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
    • Restart the projector and your router.
    • Navigate to Settings > Network & Internet to reconfigure.
  • Bluetooth Pairing Issues:
    • Ensure your Bluetooth device is in pairing mode and discoverable.
    • Check if Bluetooth is enabled on the projector (Settings > Bluetooth).
    • Try restarting both the projector and the Bluetooth device.

6.3 System Performance

  • Slow Performance:
    • Clear system cache via Settings > Memory Clean > CLEAN ALL.
    • Close unused applications running in the background.
  • Software Update Failure:
    • Ensure a stable internet connection.
    • If an update fails, try again later or contact customer support.
