3. Operating Your Watch

3.1 Timekeeping

Your OLEVS 5866 watch is powered by a reliable Japan quartz movement, ensuring accurate timekeeping. Once the time is set, the watch will operate continuously until the battery needs replacement.

3.2 Water Resistance

This watch is rated for 3Bar (30 meters) water resistance. This means it is suitable for daily use, such as hand washing, rain, or accidental splashes. It is NOT suitable for swimming, diving, or showering with hot water, as steam and pressure can compromise the seals.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the watch case and strap regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.
  • For the stainless steel strap, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed immediately by a dry cloth.
  • Avoid using chemical cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish and seals.

4.2 Battery Replacement

As a quartz watch, it is powered by a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand starts skipping, it's an indication that the battery needs to be replaced. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure the water resistance is maintained and to prevent damage to the internal movement.

4.3 General Care

  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes.
  • Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields, as these can affect the accuracy of the quartz movement.
  • Protect the watch from strong impacts or drops.
  • Ensure the crown is always pushed in completely to maintain water resistance.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Watch Not Running

  • Check if the crown is fully pushed in. If it's pulled out, the watch will not run.
  • The battery may be depleted. Refer to Section 4.2 for battery replacement.

5.2 Date Not Changing Correctly

  • Ensure the time is set correctly, especially the AM/PM cycle, as the date typically changes around midnight.
  • If the date changes at noon, you may need to advance the time by 12 hours.

5.3 Water Inside the Watch

If you notice condensation or water inside the watch, immediately take it to a professional watch repair service. Do not attempt to open the watch yourself, as this can void any potential warranty and cause further damage.
