6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your microscope.
- Cleaning the Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. For stubborn smudges, a small amount of lens cleaning solution can be applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
- Cleaning the Camera Body and Stand: Wipe the camera body and metal stand with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: When not in use, store the microscope in a dry, dust-free environment. Consider using a protective cover to prevent dust accumulation.
- Avoid Moisture: Keep the microscope away from water and high humidity to prevent damage to electronic components.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your microscope, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No image on display/computer | Power not connected; HDMI/USB cable loose or faulty; incorrect input source selected on display. | Check power connection; ensure cables are securely connected; select correct HDMI/USB input on display/software. |
| Image is blurry | Lens not focused; working distance incorrect; lens or object dirty. | Adjust the focus ring on the lens; adjust the height of the camera on the stand; clean the lens and object. |
| Remote control not working | Batteries dead or incorrectly inserted; remote not pointed at IR receiver; obstruction. | Replace batteries (CR2025); ensure clear line of sight to the camera's IR receiver. |
| Image too dark/bright | Exposure settings incorrect; ring light brightness not adjusted. | Adjust exposure settings via camera buttons or remote; adjust the LED ring light brightness. |
| Cannot save images/videos to TF card | TF card full, faulty, or not inserted correctly; card format incompatible. | Check TF card insertion; ensure card is not full; format the TF card (backup data first). |
