  1. Mount the Car Antenna: Securely attach the Car Antenna (external antenna) to the exterior of your vehicle, typically on the roof or trunk, ensuring it has a clear line of sight to cell towers.
  2. Route the Cable: Carefully route the 2M cable from the Car Antenna into the vehicle's interior to the location where the Signal Booster will be placed.
  3. Connect External Antenna: Connect the routed cable from the Car Antenna to the 'BTS' port on the Signal Booster using the NK-FJ Connector if necessary.
  4. Connect Internal Antenna: Attach the Whip Antenna (internal antenna) to the 'MS' port on the Signal Booster. Position the Whip Antenna inside the vehicle where you need improved signal, ensuring it is not too close to the external antenna to prevent oscillation.
  5. Power On: Plug the Car Power Plug into your vehicle's 12V power outlet and connect the other end to the Signal Booster's power input. The booster will power on automatically.

How the Booster Works:

Figure 7: The three-step process of signal reception, boosting, and broadcasting.
  1. Receives Signal: The external Car Antenna captures weak cellular signals from the nearest cell tower.
  2. Boosts Signal: The Signal Booster amplifies the received signal.
  3. Broadcasts Signal: The internal Whip Antenna broadcasts the amplified signal within your vehicle, providing improved reception to your mobile devices. Simultaneously, your device's outgoing signals are captured by the Whip Antenna, amplified by the booster, and sent back to the cell tower via the Car Antenna.

5. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your GOBOOST Signal Booster, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep Connections Secure: Periodically check all cable connections to ensure they are tight and free from corrosion.
  • Clean the Unit: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the booster unit. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Ensure Proper Ventilation: The booster is designed with uniform heat dissipation. Ensure that the ventilation holes are not blocked to prevent overheating.
  • Protect from Elements: While the external antenna is designed for outdoor use, protect the internal booster unit from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and moisture.

6. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your signal booster, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

No Signal Improvement:

  • Check Antenna Separation: Ensure sufficient physical separation (at least 10 meters or 30 feet) between the external and internal antennas to prevent oscillation.
  • Verify External Antenna Placement: The external antenna needs a clear view of the sky and the nearest cell tower. Adjust its position if necessary.
  • Confirm Frequency Band: Ensure the booster supports the frequency bands used by your mobile carrier. See 'How to Check Your Phone's Frequency Band' below.
  • Check Connections: Make sure all cables are securely connected to the correct ports on the booster and antennas.

Interference or Oscillation:

  • Increase the distance between the external and internal antennas.
  • Ensure the external antenna is pointing away from the internal antenna.
  • Check for loose connections.
