4.2. Step-by-Step Connection

  1. Connect Computers to KVM: For each computer you wish to connect, you will need 1 HDMI cable, 2 DisplayPort cables, and 1 USB 3.0 cable.
    • Connect the HDMI output of your PC to an HDMI input port on the KVM switch (e.g., INPUT A 1, INPUT A 2, etc.).
    • Connect the two DisplayPort outputs of your PC to the corresponding DisplayPort input ports on the KVM switch (e.g., INPUT B 1, INPUT C 1 for PC 1).
    • Connect the USB 3.0 cable from your PC's USB port to a USB 3.0 input port on the KVM switch (e.g., USB3.0 IN 1 for PC 1).
    • Important Note: Each connected computer must support multi-screen display and have the necessary HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. Ensure you use high-quality HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 cables, preferably less than 1.5 meters (59 inches) in length, to achieve optimal resolution and avoid display issues.
  2. Connect Monitors to KVM: Connect your three monitors to the KVM switch's output ports.
    • Connect one monitor to the HDMI output port (OUT C).
    • Connect the other two monitors to the DisplayPort output ports (OUT A, OUT B).
  3. Connect USB Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, printer, U-disk, or other USB 3.0 devices to the 4 USB 3.0 ports on the front of the KVM switch. These ports support data transfer rates up to 5Gbps.
  4. Connect Wired Remote Controller: Plug the wired remote controller into the dedicated port on the KVM switch.
  5. Connect Power Adapter: Connect the DC 12V power adapter to the KVM switch's power input port and then to a power outlet. This is crucial for stable operation, especially when using high-power USB devices.
  6. Power On: Turn on the KVM switch using the ON/OFF switch, then power on your computers and monitors.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Switching Between Computers

The KVM switch offers two convenient methods for switching between connected computers:

  1. Panel Button Switching: Press the corresponding PC1, PC2, PC3 (and PC4 for 403DH model) buttons on the front panel of the KVM switch to select the desired computer. LED indicators will light up to show the active computer.
  2. Wired Remote Controller: Use the included wired remote controller to switch between computers from a distance. This allows you to keep your desktop tidy by placing the KVM switch out of sight.

Note: This KVM switch does not support keyboard hotkey switching.

5.2. Display Modes (Extended and Mirror)

The KVM switch supports both Extended and Mirror display modes for your three monitors. Your computer's graphics card must support multiple displays for these modes to function correctly.

  • Extended Mode: Each of the three monitors displays a different screen, extending your desktop workspace.
  • Mirror Mode: All three monitors display the same content, mirroring your desktop.

To switch between these modes on Windows, press the 'Windows' key + 'P' simultaneously on your keyboard. A small window will pop up, allowing you to select your preferred display mode.

Two examples of display modes: Extended mode showing three different screens, and Mirror mode showing three identical screens.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep the KVM switch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Avoid exposing the device to water or other liquids.
  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the KVM switch to prevent overheating.
  • When not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to power off the device.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No display on monitors / Black screen / Flashing screenIncorrect cable connections, incompatible cables, insufficient power, computer display settings.1. Ensure all HDMI and DisplayPort cables are securely connected and are HDMI 2.1 / DP 1.4 compliant. 2. Verify the KVM switch is powered by the DC 12V adapter. 3. Check your computer's display settings to ensure multi-monitor output is enabled and configured correctly. 4. Try shorter, high-quality cables (less than 1.5m). 5. Ensure your computer's graphics card supports triple monitor output.
USB peripherals (keyboard/mouse) not workingUSB cable not connected, KVM not powered, faulty USB device.1. Ensure the USB 3.0 cable from the active PC is connected to the KVM switch. 2. Confirm the KVM switch is powered on. 3. Test the USB device directly with the computer to rule out device malfunction. 4. For high-power USB devices, ensure the DC 12V power adapter is connected.
Cannot switch between computersIncorrect switching method, KVM not powered.1. Use the panel buttons or the wired remote controller. Hotkey switching is not supported. 2. Ensure the KVM switch is powered on.
Lower than expected resolution/refresh rateIncompatible cables, source/display limitations.1. Use HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 cables. 2. Ensure your computers and monitors support the desired resolution and refresh rate. 3. Keep cable lengths as short as possible.

8. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, always use high-quality HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 cables.
  • Keep cable lengths to a minimum (ideally under 1.5 meters) to ensure stable signal transmission, especially for high resolutions like 8K.
  • Ensure your computer's graphics card drivers are up to date for the best multi-monitor experience.
  • If you experience any display issues, try restarting the KVM switch and your connected computers.
  • The wired remote is excellent for keeping your desk clear and switching computers discreetly.
