Setup Guide

1. Outdoor Sensor Assembly

The outdoor sensor is a 6-in-1 integrated unit. Assemble the wind cups and wind vane onto the main sensor body. Ensure the Swiss-made replaceable T/H sensor is securely in place. The sensor includes a built-in bubble level for accurate installation.

2. Powering the Display Console

The display console can be powered in two ways:

  • Power Adapter: Connect the included power adapter to the DC Jack on the back of the console and plug it into a wall outlet.
  • Batteries: For backup or portable use, insert 3xAAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment.

3. Wireless Connection

Once both the outdoor sensor (which is solar-powered) and the display console are powered on, they will automatically attempt to establish a wireless connection. The outdoor sensor transmits data up to 100m (330ft) under most conditions. Ensure the console and sensor are within range and free from major obstructions for optimal signal.

4. Mounting the Outdoor Sensor

The outdoor sensor should be mounted in an open area, away from obstructions, to ensure accurate readings for wind, rain, and temperature. Use the provided L-shaped stainless steel base, U-bolts, washers, and nuts to secure the sensor to a pole or suitable structure. The integrated solar panel helps power the sensor, so orient it to receive adequate sunlight.

5. Placement of the Display Console

The display console supports both tabletop placement using its desktop stand and wall mounting using the hanging holes on the back. Choose a location indoors that is easily visible and within wireless range of the outdoor sensor.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the outdoor sensor, especially the rain collector and wind cups, to prevent debris buildup that could affect accuracy. Use a soft, damp cloth for the display console.
  • Battery Replacement: If using batteries for the display console, replace them when the low battery indicator appears. The outdoor sensor is solar-powered but may have a backup battery that needs occasional checking (refer to the full manual for details).
  • Sensor Check: Periodically check the outdoor sensor's mounting to ensure it remains level and secure.
  • Software Updates: Check the manufacturer's website for any available software updates for the PC interface.

Troubleshooting

  • No Outdoor Data Displayed:
    • Ensure the outdoor sensor is powered (solar panel receiving light).
    • Check the distance between the sensor and console; reduce obstacles.
    • Verify the console and sensor are properly paired (refer to the full manual for pairing instructions).
  • Inaccurate Readings:
    • Temperature/Humidity: Ensure the outdoor sensor is not in direct sunlight or near heat sources. The Swiss-made sensor is highly accurate, but extreme conditions can affect readings.
    • Wind: Ensure the wind cups and vane spin freely and are not obstructed.
    • Rainfall: Check the rain collector for debris.
  • PC Connection Issues:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the console and the PC.
    • Verify that the PC software is correctly installed and compatible with your Windows operating system.
    • Try a different USB port on your computer.
  • Display Console Not Responding:
    • Remove and reinsert batteries, or unplug and replug the power adapter.
    • Perform a factory reset if available (refer to the full manual).
