3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Connectivity Modes
The ZUOYA GMK87 supports three connection methods:
- Type-C Wired: Connect the keyboard directly to your computer using the USB Type-C cable.
- Bluetooth 5.0: For wireless connection to Bluetooth-enabled devices. The keyboard can seamlessly connect within 10 meters.
- 2.4GHz Wireless: Use the included 2.4GHz USB dongle for a stable wireless connection.
Easily switch between these modes for efficient multitasking.

3.2 System Compatibility
The keyboard is fully compatible with both Windows and macOS environments. There is a physical switch located near the Type-C plug hole to toggle between system modes. Alternatively, you can use the key combination FN + A for macOS or FN + S for Windows to switch modes.
3.3 Multi-function Knob and TFT Screen
The GMK87 features an adjustable multi-function knob, typically used for volume control. The integrated TFT screen displays useful information such as time, battery status, and connection mode.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
To clean your keyboard, disconnect it from your computer. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the keycaps and case. For deeper cleaning, you may remove keycaps and use compressed air to clear debris from between switches. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
5.2 Switch Replacement
Thanks to the hot-swappable PCB, switches can be easily replaced. Use a switch puller tool to carefully remove existing switches. Insert new switches by aligning the pins and pressing firmly until they click into place.
6. Troubleshooting
- FN Key Not Responding: The FN key is a function key and does not have a standalone response. It must be combined with other keys to activate its functions (e.g.,
FN + Afor Mac mode). This is normal behavior and not a product issue. - 'Menu' Key Not Opening in Testing Software: Similar to the FN key, some testing software may not register a response from the 'menu' key. This is not indicative of a product defect.
- Alt Key Showing Win Key Function (Windows System): If your computer is a Windows system and the Alt key behaves like the Win key, ensure the keyboard's system switch is set to Windows mode. This switch is located next to the Type-C plug hole. Alternatively, press
FN + Sto switch to Windows mode. - Connectivity Issues: Ensure the keyboard is charged. For wireless connections, verify the 2.4GHz dongle is properly inserted or Bluetooth is paired correctly. Try switching between wired and wireless modes.
- FN Key Cannot Lock Function: The FN key on this keyboard is designed for momentary function activation and does not support a locking mechanism.
