Setup Guide
1. Assembly (if applicable)
The MAX102 is a keyboard kit, meaning it typically requires assembly of switches and keycaps. Ensure you have compatible 3-pin or 5-pin hot-swappable mechanical switches and keycaps.
- Carefully align each switch with the hot-swap socket on the PCB and press firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure the pins are straight to avoid bending.
- Once all switches are installed, place the desired keycaps onto the switches.

2. Initial Charging
Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard. Connect the provided USB cable to the keyboard's USB-C port and to a power source (e.g., computer USB port or USB wall adapter). The charging indicator (if present) will show charging status.

3. Connectivity Modes
The MAX102 supports three connection modes: 2.4G Wireless, Bluetooth, and Wired USB-C.

Switching Modes:
The tri-mode switch is discreetly located below the TAB key. To access it, gently lift the keycap above the switch. Toggle the switch to the desired position (ON/OFF for wireless modes).

2.4G Wireless Mode:
- Ensure the keyboard's mode switch is set to wireless (ON).
- Press FN + R to activate 2.4G mode.
- Retrieve the 2.4G USB receiver from its storage compartment on the back of the keyboard.
- Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer. The keyboard should connect automatically.
Bluetooth Mode:
The keyboard can pair with up to 3 Bluetooth devices.
- Ensure the keyboard's mode switch is set to wireless (ON).
- Press FN + Q, FN + W, or FN + E to select a Bluetooth channel. The corresponding key will flash, indicating pairing mode.
- On your device (computer, tablet, phone), search for Bluetooth devices and select "Weikav MAX102" (or similar) to pair.
- Once paired, the key will stop flashing and remain lit.
- To switch between paired Bluetooth devices, press FN + Q/W/E for the desired channel.
Wired Mode:
- Connect the USB-C cable to the keyboard and to your computer.
- Press FN + T to activate wired mode.
- The keyboard will function as a standard wired keyboard.
Operating Instructions
1. Lighting Control
The MAX102 features 16 million color RGB ARGB lighting with various effects and geometric decorative lights.

- Driver Software: The keyboard uses a self-developed web page-driven driver and VIA key modification software.
- Web Version Driver: Access the web-based driver at https://weikavmax102.hsgaming.cn/ for advanced customization.

3. Magnetic Quick Release
The keyboard features an innovative magnetic contact pin design for quick release and connection, enhancing stability and ease of disassembly.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the keyboard.
- For deeper cleaning, use the provided key puller to remove keycaps. A can of compressed air can be used to remove dust and debris from between switches.
- Keycaps can be cleaned with mild soap and water, then thoroughly dried before reattaching.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the aluminum alloy finish or keycap legends.
2. Hot-Swappable Switches
The MAX102 supports hot-swappable switches, allowing you to change switches without soldering. Use the provided switch puller to carefully remove switches. When inserting new switches, ensure the pins are aligned correctly with the PCB sockets to prevent damage.
Troubleshooting
- Keyboard not responding:
- Check the battery level and charge the keyboard if necessary.
- Ensure the correct connection mode (2.4G, Bluetooth, or Wired) is selected.
- For 2.4G, ensure the USB receiver is securely plugged in.
- For Bluetooth, re-pair the device if connection is lost.
- Try connecting via wired mode to rule out wireless issues.
- Keys not registering or double-typing:
- This could indicate a faulty switch. Since the keyboard is hot-swappable, try replacing the problematic switch.
- Ensure switches are fully seated in their sockets.
- Lighting issues:
- Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
- Cycle through lighting modes using FN + ~.
- Check the driver software for lighting settings.
- Customization software (VIA/QMK) not detecting keyboard:
- Ensure the keyboard is connected via wired mode.
- Verify that the correct firmware is installed and the software is up to date.
- Refer to the official QMK/VIA documentation or the provided web driver link for specific instructions.
