4. Setup Guide

4.1 Charging the Mouse

  1. Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the front port of the mouse.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a USB port on your computer or a USB power adapter.
  3. The mouse's indicator light will show charging status (specific light behavior not provided, assume standard).
  4. A full charge provides extended battery life.

4.2 Connecting via 2.4GHz Wireless Mode

  1. Locate the 8K Wireless Receiver (USB dongle) in the package.
  2. Plug the 8K Wireless Receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. On the bottom of the mouse, slide the mode switch to the "2.4G" position.
  4. The mouse should automatically connect to the receiver. The receiver may illuminate to indicate connection.
  5. For optimal performance, ensure the receiver is close to the mouse and not obstructed.

4.3 Connecting via Bluetooth Mode

  1. On the bottom of the mouse, slide the mode switch to the "BT" position.
  2. The mouse will enter pairing mode (indicator light may flash).
  3. On your computer or device, open Bluetooth settings and search for new devices.
  4. Select "ATTACK SHARK V5" (or similar name) from the list of available devices to pair.
  5. Once paired, the mouse is ready for use.

4.4 Connecting via Wired Mode

  1. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the front port of the mouse.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a USB port on your computer.
  3. On the bottom of the mouse, slide the mode switch to the "OFF" position. This will enable wired mode and also charge the mouse.
  4. The mouse will function as a wired mouse and charge simultaneously.

4.5 Driver Software Installation

The V5 supports intelligent cloud-based driver software for customization. A standalone application is also available.

  1. Visit the official Attack Shark website (website URL not provided, so general instruction).
  2. Download and install the latest driver software for the V5 mouse.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Mode Switching

The mode switch on the bottom of the mouse controls power and connection type:

  • 2.4G: Activates 2.4GHz wireless mode.
  • OFF: Turns off the mouse (and enables wired mode if connected via USB-C).
  • BT: Activates Bluetooth wireless mode.

5.2 DPI Adjustment

The mouse features a dedicated DPI button on its underside (refer to Figure 3). Press this button to cycle through preset DPI levels. You can customize these levels and add more steps using the driver software.

The PAW3950MAX sensor supports up to 42,000 DPI, adjustable in 50 DPI increments via software.

5.3 Polling Rate

The V5 mouse supports different polling rates depending on the connection mode:

  • 2.4GHz Wireless Mode: Up to 8000Hz polling rate for ultra-low latency.
  • Wired Mode: Up to 1000Hz polling rate.

5.4 Button Functions

The mouse features standard left/right click buttons, a scroll wheel (which also acts as a middle click), and two side buttons. All buttons are programmable via the driver software.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the mouse surface.
  • For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the ice-cool coating.
  • Regularly clean the optical sensor area on the bottom of the mouse with a cotton swab to ensure optimal tracking.

6.2 Battery Care

  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • Charge the mouse when the battery indicator is low.
  • If storing the mouse for an extended period, charge it to about 50% and store in a cool, dry place.

6.3 Firmware Updates

Periodically check the official Attack Shark website for firmware updates. Firmware updates can improve performance, add new features, or fix bugs. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update carefully.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Mouse not responding: Ensure the mouse is charged and the mode switch is set correctly (2.4G, BT, or OFF for wired). Try reconnecting the receiver or re-pairing Bluetooth.
  • Lag or intermittent connection: Move the 2.4GHz receiver closer to the mouse. Ensure there are no strong interfering wireless signals (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, other wireless devices).
  • Tracking issues: Clean the optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse. Ensure you are using the mouse on a suitable surface (a mouse pad is recommended).
  • DPI not changing: Ensure the mouse is powered on. If using software, verify settings are applied.
  • Software not detecting mouse: Ensure the mouse is connected to the computer (preferably wired or 2.4GHz) and the software is up to date. Try restarting your computer.

8. User Tips

  • Optimize Polling Rate: For competitive gaming, use the 2.4GHz wireless mode with the 8K receiver to take full advantage of the 8000Hz polling rate.
  • Customization: Utilize the intelligent cloud software to fine-tune DPI stages, button assignments, and macros to suit your specific gaming style and applications.
  • Ergonomics: The V5 is designed for medium to large hands. Experiment with different grip styles (palm, claw, fingertip) to find what feels most comfortable and provides the best control for you.
  • Surface Choice: While the PAW3950MAX sensor is highly versatile, a good quality gaming mouse pad will always provide the most consistent and accurate tracking.
