5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Scanning Modes
Your NETUM barcode scanner supports three primary scanning modes:
- Key Trigger Mode: Press the trigger button to activate the scan beam and read a barcode.
- Continuous Scan Mode: The scan beam remains active, continuously scanning barcodes without needing to press the trigger for each scan.
- Auto-induction Mode: The scanner automatically detects a barcode within its field of view and activates the scan beam to read it.

5.2. Scanning Barcodes
To scan a barcode:
- Point the scanner's window at the barcode you wish to read.
- Ensure the scan beam covers the entire barcode.
- Press the trigger (if in Key Trigger Mode) or allow the scanner to automatically detect (in Continuous or Auto-induction Mode).
- A successful scan is usually indicated by an audible beep and/or a visual confirmation (e.g., LED indicator).
The scanner is capable of quickly capturing 1D and 2D barcodes displayed on screens, such as mobile phones or tablets.

5.3. Offline Storage (Wireless Models Only)
The L8BLPro and L8 Pro models feature a built-in 256 KB memory, allowing them to store over 2600 codes when out of range or disconnected. To upload stored data to your computer, you may need to scan a specific 'Manual Data Upload' configuration barcode (refer to the full product manual or contact support for these specific barcodes).
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the scanner's lens and body. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Care (Wireless Models): For optimal battery life, fully charge the scanner before its first use. Avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures.
- Durability: The scanner features an anti-shock design, capable of withstanding drops from up to 6.6ft (2m) onto concrete. However, avoid unnecessary drops to prolong the product's lifespan.

7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your NETUM barcode scanner, refer to the common problems and solutions below:
- Q: Some barcodes cannot be read, why?
- A: Dirty or unclear barcodes might not be readable.
- A: Digital barcodes displayed on phones, computers, or tablets can be read by CCD or 2D scanners, but not by laser barcode scanners. (Note: NETUM L-series are 2D CMOS scanners, so they should read digital barcodes).
- A: The possible reason is that the setting for some barcode types is not commonly used and is off by default. You need to activate a specific barcode type by scanning a programming barcode. Please contact our Customer Service Team for further assistance if you don't know the exact type of barcode you are referring to.
- Q: Is there any barcode to apply or remove Enter for suffix?
- A: Yes, you can refer to the Common Function Barcodes in the full user manual to reverse the setting or contact our Customer Service Team for assistance.
- Q: The data cannot be sent to my computer. Why?
- A: Please make sure you have turned off the inventory mode. Because it will store your scans internally instead of instantly transmitting them to the connected device. You need to scan the 'Manual data upload' barcode to send the scanned codes to your connected device.
- Q: How to solve the messy code problem encountered while using other foreign languages?
- A: The default language is English. Please refer to the 'Language Setting' chapter in the full user manual to change the setting by scanning the appropriate configuration barcode.

8. User Tips
- Connectivity Check: Always verify that your scanner is properly connected (wired, 2.4G dongle, or Bluetooth paired) to your host device before attempting to scan.
- Cleanliness: Regularly clean the scanner's lens to ensure optimal reading performance and prevent misreads due to smudges or dust.
- Configuration Barcodes: Keep your full user manual handy, as many advanced settings and troubleshooting steps (like enabling specific barcode types or changing language) require scanning special configuration barcodes.
- Battery Management: For wireless models, monitor the battery level and recharge promptly to avoid interruptions during use.
9. Support
