5. Setup

5.1. Attaching the Antenna

  1. Align the antenna with the connector on the top of the radio.
  2. Turn the antenna clockwise until it is securely fastened. Do not overtighten.

5.2. Installing the Battery

  1. Ensure the radio is powered off.
  2. Align the battery pack with the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
  3. Slide the battery into place until the battery latch (13) clicks, securing it.

5.3. Attaching the Belt Clip and Sling

  1. To attach the belt clip, align it with the screw holes on the back of the radio and secure it with the provided screws.
  2. Thread the sling through the strap buckle (14) on the top side of the radio.

5.4. Charging the Battery

The UV-68 Pro Max V2 features convenient Type-C charging.

  1. Connect the Type-C charger cable to the Type-C port on the side of the radio.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power source (e.g., USB charger, computer, power bank, car charger).
  3. The LED indicator will show red while charging and turn green when charging is complete.
  4. Ensure the Type-C port cover is closed after charging to maintain the IP67 waterproof rating.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off and Volume Control

Turn the Knob (04) clockwise to power on the radio and increase the volume. Turn it counter-clockwise to decrease the volume and power off the radio.

6.2. Channel Selection and Frequency Adjustment

The radio supports up to 128 memory channels. Use the keypad (08) to directly input channel numbers or frequencies, or use the up/down arrow keys to navigate. The LCD (07) will display the selected channel number, frequency, or channel name.

6.3. Transmitting and Receiving

To transmit, press and hold the PTT Key (09) and speak into the microphone (06). Release the PTT Key to receive. Ensure you are on an appropriate frequency or channel.
