Setup and Installation

1. Camera Connection

Follow the wiring diagram to connect the camera to your vehicle's electrical system and display unit.

Wiring Diagram: Connect the camera's video output to the "Cam-In" cable and the camera's power wires (Red: 12V+, Black: GND) to the backup light power source.
  • Connect the camera's video output (yellow RCA connector) to the "Cam-In" input of your car navigation or display unit.
  • Connect the camera's power cable (red and black wires) to the vehicle's backup light power source. The red wire connects to 12V+ (positive) and the black wire connects to GND (ground). This ensures the camera activates when the vehicle is in reverse.
  • Connect the red trigger wire from the video cable to the reverse light power source, and the other end to the reverse trigger input on your car navigation system, if applicable.

2. Physical Installation

The camera is typically installed in the rear of the vehicle, often replacing a license plate light or integrated into the trunk handle, depending on the specific car model.

  • Carefully remove the existing component (e.g., license plate light) where the camera will be installed.
  • Mount the new camera securely in its designated position.
  • Route the video cable and power cable through the vehicle's interior to the front dashboard, ensuring cables are not pinched or exposed to moving parts.
  • Connect the video cable to your car navigation system.

Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and wired, the camera operates automatically:

  • When the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear, the camera will automatically power on.
  • The video feed from the camera will be displayed on your connected car navigation screen or compatible display unit.
  • The camera provides a 120° viewing angle, offering a wide perspective of the area behind your vehicle to assist with parking and reversing maneuvers.
  • The camera may include guiding lines (if enabled by your display unit) to further assist with parking. Note: This specific camera model does not have built-in guiding lines.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your reverse camera:

  • Regularly clean the camera lens with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, or water spots that may obstruct the view.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials on the lens or camera housing.
  • Periodically check all cable connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
  • If the camera is exposed to extreme weather conditions (e.g., heavy snow, ice), gently clear any obstructions before use.
