1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your ATORCH AT4PW series WiFi Din Rail Smart Energy Meter. This device is designed to monitor and manage electricity consumption, offering real-time data, remote control capabilities, and various protection functions through a mobile application.

The AT4PW series includes three models with varying features:

  • AT4PW (Basic Version): Features WiFi connectivity for monitoring. Does not include a relay switch or leakage protection function.
  • AT4PWS (Switch Version): Includes WiFi connectivity, a built-in relay switch for power control, but no leakage protection function.
  • AT4PWSL (Leakage Protection Switch Version): Offers WiFi connectivity, a built-in relay switch, and mutual inductance leakage protection for enhanced safety.

  • Installation should only be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Ensure the main power supply is disconnected before any installation, wiring, or maintenance work.
  • Do not operate the device if it appears damaged.
  • The device is designed for single-phase AC85-265V circuits. Do not exceed the maximum operating current of 100A.

4. Setup

4.1. Installation

The ATORCH Smart Energy Meter is designed for easy installation on a standard 35mm Din rail. No screws or snap fasteners are required, making installation portable and convenient.

4.2. Wiring Method

Ensure the main power supply is OFF before wiring. Connect the device according to the diagram below. The meter is single-phase and has a built-in 100A shunt, so no external CT is required.

4.3. WiFi Connection and App Pairing

The device supports 2.4G WiFi networks (5G networks are not supported). You will need the Smart Life App or Tuya App, available on Google Play (Android) and Apple App Store (iOS).

  1. Download the Smart Life App or Tuya App: Search for "Smart Life" or "Tuya App" in your mobile app market and install it.
  2. Add ATorch as WiFi Connected Electricity Meter:
    • Open the Smart Life app and ensure Bluetooth and location permissions are enabled.
    • The app should automatically detect the device. If not, click "Add" to manually add a device.
    • After being powered on, the device's red light will flash and remain on to enter the distribution network mode, waiting for a WiFi connection.
    • Select your 2.4G WiFi network and enter your password.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.
    • Once successfully connected, the device will be available for remote control via WiFi.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Display Interfaces

The device features a 2.4-inch TFT-LCD HD Display Panel (240x320 RGB Dot-matrix) that shows various electrical parameters and statistics. You can switch between multiple functional interfaces by short pressing the "+/-" buttons.

Key display pages include:

  • Real-time Data: Voltage, Current, Power, Energy (KWH), Frequency, Power Factor, CPU Temperature.
  • Electricity Statistics: Daily, monthly, and annual reports of electricity consumption.
  • Protection Page: Displays status for Over Voltage, Over Current, Over Power, Under Voltage, and Leakage Protection (if applicable to model).
  • Curve Display: Real-time display of current and voltage curves, including peak current and voltage recording.

5.2. System Backend Settings

To access the system backend settings, long press the "M" key. Use the "+/-" keys to navigate and select options, then short press "M" to enter parameters.

Key settings include:

  • Language: English/Chinese.
  • Display Brightness: Adjust screen brightness.
  • Standby Brightness: Adjust brightness in standby mode.
  • System Sound Switch: Turn system sounds ON/OFF.
  • Cost Mode Setting: Set electricity price tiers (Price-A, Price-B, Price-C).
  • Calibration: Voltage, Current, Power calibration reference.
  • Protection Settings: Over Voltage Protect, Over Current Protect, Over Power Protect, Low Voltage Protect.
  • Over Limit Power-off Delay Function (AT4PWS/AT4PWSL): Option 23 in the background settings. This can be set to prevent fluctuations caused by surges.
  • Leakage Protection Parameters (AT4PWSL): Set leakage current and off-threshold.

5.3. Standby Display Modes

The device offers four standby display modes. Long press the 'M' key to enter the background and select different styles for display.

  • Default Style
  • Large Font Style
  • Time Calendar Style
  • Screen OFF Style

A built-in standby battery ensures accurate timekeeping even after power failure.

5.4. WiFi Timer Function (AT4PWS/AT4PWSL)

Through the Smart Life app, you can remotely set multiple timers for power ON/OFF. This allows for scheduled operation of connected devices, preventing over-usage or power outages.

5.5. Remote Control via Mobile App

The mobile app allows you to control devices connected to the meter anytime and anywhere with a communication signal. It supports controlling multiple devices from one phone and multiple phones controlling one device.

5.6. Screen Rotation

The screen rotation function allows the interface to rotate 180 degrees for display, adapting to the forward/backward display of content. To rotate, long press the 'M' key to enter the background, then short press the screen flip bar, and short press the '+/-' keys.

5.7. Safe Power ON and Power OFF Function (AT4PWS/AT4PWSL)

For models with a relay switch, power ON and OFF can be achieved intuitively by long pressing the "+/-" button. This ensures safe electricity usage.

5.8. Prepaid Setting

The mobile app allows for prepaid settings, enabling you to set an energy limit (e.g., 30kWh). If the remaining available power drops below a set alarm value, an alarm will be prompted. When the remaining available power is 0, the prepaid switch will automatically cut off power.

5.9. Tiered Electricity Prices

The device supports setting three different electricity tariff modes and four tiered electricity prices. Each tier can have freely set interval electricity prices.

6. Maintenance

6.1. OTA Remote Firmware Upgrade

ATORCH engineers continuously update product firmware based on user needs to improve performance and add features. Users can purchase a lifetime free firmware upgrade function.

7. Troubleshooting (FAQ)

Q: How to obtain AQI, PM2.5, air temperature, humidity data, and calendar data?
A: AQI, PM2.5, humidity, temperature, calendar, and other environmental data are obtained through an internet connection.
Q: Are there any charges for data cloud services?
A: No, the data cloud service is free.
Q: What types of mobile phones are supported?
A: The app currently supports Android phones and Apple phones.
Q: Does the WiFi version support a computer application?
A: The WiFi version does not support a computer application. A Bluetooth version (not this model) may support a computer app.
Q: Is the device single-phase or three-phase?
A: This device is designed for single-phase electricity.
Q: Is this product compatible with 2.4G or 5G networks?
A: This WiFi version supports 2.4G networks and currently does not support 5G networks.
Q: Does the product have power-off memory?
A: Electrical data has power-off memory. However, the switch mode does not have power-off memory; once power is restored, the relay will close, and the screen will display as normally connected.

8. User Tips

  • For environmental data like AQI, PM2.5, temperature, and humidity, ensure your device has a stable internet connection.
  • Utilize the free cloud data service to track and analyze your electricity consumption over time.
  • If you experience power fluctuations, consider enabling the "Over Limit Power-off Delay Function" (available on AT4PWS/AT4PWSL models) in the system backend settings to prevent unnecessary disconnections.
  • Remember that the WiFi version only supports 2.4G networks. Ensure your router is configured accordingly during setup.
