4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your welder.
- Keep the machine clean and free from dust and debris. Use compressed air to clean internal components periodically.
- Inspect all cables, torches, and connections for wear, damage, or loose fittings before each use. Replace damaged parts immediately.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the machine to prevent overheating. The unit uses a fan for cooling.
- Store the welder in a dry, clean environment when not in use.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your welder, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Check the power supply connection, circuit breaker, and ensure the main power switch on the welder is ON.
- Poor Arc Start/Stability: Verify proper ground clamp connection, correct electrode/wire selection, and appropriate current settings for the material and thickness.
- Overheating: Ensure adequate ventilation. If the thermal overload indicator is active, allow the machine to cool down.
- Wire Feeding Issues (MIG): Check wire spool tension, liner condition, and drive roller pressure. Ensure the correct wire diameter is selected on the control panel.
- Gas Flow Problems: Verify gas cylinder is open, regulator pressure is set correctly, and gas hose connections are secure.
