4. Setup and Installation

Important: Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician to ensure safety and proper functionality. Always turn off power at the circuit breaker before beginning any electrical work.

4.1. Dimensions

The thermostat is designed to fit a standard 86x86mm concealed wall box.

4.2. Mounting Steps

  1. Release Front Cover: Insert a head screw-driver into the bottom crack of the thermostat and gently pry to release the front cover.
  2. Connect Wires: Connect the wires to the terminal block per the wiring schematic according to wiring diagram. Suggested copper wire length is 7-9mm.
  3. Attach Thermostat Base: Secure the thermostat base to the wall-cassette by two mounting screws. After attaching it, make sure there is no deformation on the thermostat. Suggested torque is 0.2~0.4N.m (2.0~4.1kgf.cm).
  4. Re-mount Front Cover: Snap the front cover back onto the thermostat base.

4.3. Wiring Diagrams

The thermostat operates at full capacity up to 2500m above sea level. For altitudes between 2500m and 4200m, the power rating of the external load should not exceed 80% of the thermostat's rated power.

4.3.1. Electric Heating (Model #716)

Connect Live (L), Neutral (N), Load Neutral (N1), Load Live (L1), and external sensor (NTC1, NTC2) as shown. The maximum current for electric heating is 16A.

4.3.2. Water Heating (Model #703)

This model supports normally-closed electric actuators, normally-open electric actuators, and three-wire electrical ball valves. Connect Live (L), Neutral (N), and the actuator/valve terminals (OPEN, CLOSE) along with the external sensor (NTC1, NTC2). Maximum current is 3A.

4.3.3. Gas Boiler (Model #723)

This model supports normally-closed electric actuators, normally-open electric actuators, and three-wire electrical ball valves, with passive linkage control and dry contact signal for boiler control. Connect Live (L), Neutral (N), and the actuator/valve terminals (OPEN, CLOSE) along with PC1 and PC2 for boiler control. Maximum current is 3A. The delay time of linkage control is adjustable.

4.4. Wi-Fi Configuration (Wi-Fi Version Only)

To connect your thermostat to Wi-Fi:

  1. Ensure the thermostat is powered off.
  2. Press and hold the Mode key (bottom-left button) for 3 seconds to enter Wi-Fi configuration mode.
  3. Open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app on your smartphone.
  4. Follow the in-app instructions to add the thermostat. Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz, as 5GHz networks are not supported.

5.1. Display Symbols Overview

5.2. Basic Operations

  • Temperature Setting: Rotate the Knob key to increase or decrease the setpoint temperature by 0.5°C increments.
  • Child Lock: Press and hold both the Mode key and ECO key (bottom-right button) simultaneously for 3 seconds to activate or deactivate child lock.
