2. Important Safety Information

4.2 Control Panel

The control panel is located on the top of the unit and features a digital display and touch-sensitive buttons for various functions.

5. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the dehumidifier upright on a firm, level surface in the area where dehumidification is desired. Ensure there is at least 20 cm (8 inches) of space around the unit for proper airflow. Do not place it against a wall or furniture that could obstruct the air inlets or outlets.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet meets the electrical requirements of the unit (220-240V~50Hz).
  4. Water Tank: Ensure the water tank is correctly inserted into the unit. The unit will not operate if the tank is not properly seated or is full.
  5. Continuous Drainage (Optional): For continuous operation without emptying the water tank, attach a drainage pipe (if purchased separately) to the continuous drainage outlet on the back of the unit. Ensure the pipe is sloped downwards to allow gravity drainage into a suitable receptacle or drain.

6. Operating Instructions

The Deye DYD-A20A offers several operating modes and features for optimal humidity control and air purification.

6.1 Basic Operation

  1. Power On/Off: Press the Power button on the control panel to turn the unit on or off.
  2. Setting Desired Humidity: Use the + or - buttons to set your desired humidity level. The unit will automatically operate to maintain this level.
  3. Adjusting Fan Speed: Press the Fan Speed button to cycle between High and Low fan speeds.

6.2 Special Functions

  • Timer Function: Press the Timer button to set a 24-hour auto-off timer. Use the + or - buttons to adjust the duration.
  • Ionizer Function: Activate the ionizer for enhanced air purification by pressing the corresponding button on the control panel.
  • Clothes Drying Function: This mode is designed to help dry clothes faster by continuously running the dehumidifier at a high fan speed. Select this mode via the control panel or app.
  • Child Lock: Press and hold the Child Lock button for a few seconds to activate or deactivate it. This prevents accidental changes to settings.
  • Auto Restart: In case of a power outage, the unit will automatically restart with the previous settings once power is restored.
  • Automatic Shut Off When Tank Full: The unit will automatically stop operating when the water tank is full to prevent overflow. The display will indicate that the tank needs to be emptied.

6.3 Smart Wi-Fi Control

7. Maintenance

7.1 Emptying the Water Tank

When the water tank is full, the unit will stop operating and an indicator will light up. Carefully remove the water tank, empty the collected water, and reinsert it firmly until it clicks into place. The unit will resume operation.

7.2 Cleaning/Replacing Air Filters

The dehumidifier uses a three-layer air purification system, which may include HEPA and Carbon filters (if installed). Filters should be cleaned regularly (e.g., every 2-4 weeks) and replaced as needed.

  1. Unplug the dehumidifier from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the filter access panel (usually at the back or side of the unit).
  3. Remove the filters.
  4. Clean the filters using a vacuum cleaner or by gently washing with lukewarm water (for washable filters). Ensure filters are completely dry before reinserting. Replace HEPA and Carbon filters according to manufacturer recommendations or when visibly dirty.
  5. Reinsert the clean/new filters and close the access panel.
