1. Introduction

2. Safety Instructions

  • Always ensure the input voltage is within the specified range (7-70.000V) to prevent damage to the device.
  • The device features input over-voltage protection (triggers at >72V, cuts off at >75V) and input reverse connection protection (will not work, but will not damage up to -50V).
  • Do not connect non-original accessories to the temperature sensor, fan, or communication interface on the board to avoid burning the device.
  • Ensure proper ventilation during operation to prevent overheating. The device has over-temperature protection (system temperature >90°C).
  • Exercise caution when handling electrical components. Always disconnect power before making or changing connections.
  • The output terminals are short-circuit protected and will not be damaged by accidental short circuits.

Important Note on PSU Selection:

The 1200W PSU achieves 1200W output under 220V AC input, allowing the RD6018P to reach its full output capacity. However, under 110V AC input, the PSU's output is limited to 1000W, which means the RD6018P can only output a maximum of 950W. Please consider your mains voltage when selecting a PSU.

6. Setup and Installation

6.1. Assembly (with optional case and PSU)

If you are using an optional case (e.g., S800) and an external PSU, follow the instructions provided with those accessories for assembly. The RD6018P module is designed to integrate with compatible cases.

6.2. Connecting Input and Output

  • Connect your DC input power source (e.g., the 1200W PSU) to the Input Positive and Input Negative terminals on the RD6018P module. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Connect your load to the output terminals (red for positive, black for negative).

6.3. Installing Optional Components

  • WiFi Board (RD6018P-W only): If you have the RD6018P-W model, install the WiFi board into the designated slot on the main circuit board.
  • External Temperature Sensor: Connect the external temperature sensor to its dedicated socket for external temperature monitoring.
  • Clock Battery: Insert a CR1220 clock battery into the Clock Battery Slot to enable the real-time clock function.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1. Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Use the ON/OFF button on the front panel to power the device.
  • Setting Voltage/Current: Use the rotary encoder and numerical keypad to set the desired output voltage and current limits. Refer to the on-screen prompts for guidance.
  • Memory Functions (M1-M9): The device supports saving and recalling up to 9 sets of voltage and current parameters.

7.2. Display Styles

The RD6018P offers multiple display styles for different preferences:

For Android users, a mobile application is available for Bluetooth control and monitoring of the RD6018P. The iOS app is temporarily unavailable. Due to variations in mobile phones and operating systems, incompatibilities may occur. It is recommended to install and test the app before relying on this function.

7.5. Firmware Update

Firmware updates are available to optimize product performance. The device can be updated in normal mode. If normal mode update fails, you must enter Boot mode to upgrade the firmware. Refer to the PC software or official documentation for detailed firmware update procedures.

The RD6018P supports 15 customizable display colors. To enable this feature, ensure the color customization switch is turned on in the settings. You can then freely match and set your preferred colors for various display elements.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Fuse Replacement: The device uses an 1808 25A fuse. If the fuse blows, replace it with a fuse of the same type and rating. Ensure the device is disconnected from power before replacing the fuse.

  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

9. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Check input voltage connections and ensure the input voltage is within the 7-70V range. Verify the fuse is intact.
  • "Overvoltage at Input" warning: This indicates the input voltage has exceeded 72V. The device will cut off output if the input voltage exceeds 75V. Reduce the input voltage to a safe level.
  • No output: Check if the output is enabled. Verify that OVP, OCP, or OTP protections are not active (indicated on the display).
  • PC Software/Mobile App not connecting: Ensure the correct communication method (USB/WiFi/Bluetooth) is selected and drivers are installed (for PC). Check for app compatibility with your specific phone model (for mobile app).
  • Over Temperature Protection (OTP) active: The system temperature has exceeded 90°C. Ensure adequate ventilation and reduce the load if necessary. The cooling fan should activate if the output current is >6A or system temperature is >45℃.
