5. Installation

Professional installation is highly recommended to avoid damage to your vehicle's dashboard or the unit itself. Ensure the vehicle's power is disconnected before beginning installation.

5.1 Wiring Connections

The unit comes with a dedicated wiring harness. Please refer to the diagram below for correct connections. Incorrect wiring can prevent the unit from turning on or cause damage.

• Power Supply: Connect the red and yellow wires to the positive side of the 12V power supply. Connect the black wire to the negative power supply.
• Speakers: Ensure speaker wires are connected correctly and do not touch each other or the power cables to prevent sound issues.
• Radio Antenna: Connect the radio antenna securely. A loose or damaged antenna can affect FM reception.
• DAB Antenna: Connect the provided DAB/DAB+ active glass antenna using standard SMA connectors.

6.1 Front Panel Controls

• RES (Reset button): Press to reset the unit.
• VOL+/- (Volume control): Rotate to adjust volume. Press SEL for other settings.
• MIC (Microphone): Built-in microphone for hands-free calls.
• Previous Track / Next Track buttons: Navigate through tracks or radio stations.
• MODE (Mode switch): Switch between different audio sources (Radio, AUX, BT, USB, TF).
• BAND/AMS (Band switching / Automatic search): Switch radio bands or perform automatic station search.

• USB Read Disk: USB port for media playback.

2. On your phone, search for Bluetooth devices and select 'CAR BT' (the default name for the unit).
3. If prompted for a pairing code, enter '0000'. If this doesn't work, try '1234' or '123456'.
4. Once paired, you can stream music and make/receive calls through the car radio.

6.4 Media Playback (USB/TF Card/AUX)

• USB Disk: Insert a USB flash drive into the 'USB Read Disk' port. The unit will automatically switch to USB mode and begin playback.
• TF Card: Insert a TF (MicroSD) card into the TF card slot. The unit will automatically switch to TF mode and begin playback.
• AUX Input: Connect an external audio player (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the 3.5mm AUX input jack using an audio cable. Press the MODE button to select AUX input.

6.5 Car Locator Function

The K-701D includes a car locator feature to help you find your vehicle. You need to install a mobile application on your smartphone.

1. Scan the QR code provided in Figure 6.7 to download and install the mobile app.
2. Connect your mobile phone to the car radio via Bluetooth before turning off the car's ignition.
3. The app will record the car's last known location, allowing you to find it later. Disconnecting Bluetooth after the ignition is off will not affect the recorded location.

6.6 Colorful Button Lights

The unit features customizable 7-color button lights. You can cycle through Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Cyan, Purple, and White options to match your car's interior or personal preference.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the unit's surface. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

• Speaker Test: Connect a single speaker to each group of audio cables separately to identify if a specific speaker or wiring is faulty.

8.3 Cannot Search FM Radio Stations

• Antenna Connection: Ensure the radio antenna is securely plugged in. Try re-inserting it several times to ensure good contact.
• Signal Strength: Move to an area with better radio signal reception and try again.
• Antenna Condition: Check if the car's radio antenna is broken or ineffective. Replace if necessary.

8.4 Cannot Connect Bluetooth

• Phone Settings: Open your phone's Bluetooth settings, search for 'CAR BT', and attempt to pair. Use '0000', '1234', or '123456' as the pairing code if required.
• Test with Another Phone: Try pairing with a different mobile phone to rule out phone-specific issues.
• Power Cycle: If issues persist, unplug the power connector from the back of the player, wait 3 minutes, and then plug it back in.

8.5 Clock Displays After Unit is Off

The time display is a built-in feature of the car radio and cannot be removed. It is designed for convenience. If you do not wish to see the clock, you would need to completely disconnect the power supply to the unit.
