4. Installation Guide

4.1 Package Contents

Before installation, ensure all items are present:

  • 1 x JINGSHA X99 D8 Motherboard
  • 1 x SATA Cable
  • 1 x Backplane (I/O Shield)
  • 1 x LGA2011-3 CPU Radiator Bracket

4.2 Component Identification

Refer to the diagram below for the location of key components and connectors on the motherboard.

4.3 Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Power Supply: Ensure you have a powerful enough power supply. A minimum of a 500W branded power supply is recommended for stable operation.
  • Motherboard Battery: Note that the CMOS battery is removed before shipment due to customs restrictions. You will need to install a compatible battery (CR2032) if not already present.
  • Compatibility: Verify that your CPU (Intel LGA 2011 V3/V4 series), RAM (DDR4), and other components are compatible with this motherboard.

4.4 Installation Steps (General)

  1. Install CPU: Carefully place your LGA 2011 V3/V4 CPU into the socket. Ensure proper alignment and secure the retention mechanism.
  2. Install CPU Cooler: Attach the CPU cooler, ensuring good thermal contact and proper fan orientation. Use the provided LGA2011-3 CPU radiator bracket if necessary.
  3. Install RAM: Insert DDR4 memory modules into the appropriate DIMM slots. For optimal performance, refer to your CPU and memory manufacturer's guidelines for dual or quad-channel configurations.
  4. Install M.2 SSD/WiFi Card: Install your NVMe M.2 SSD into the dedicated M.2 NVMe slot and/or your M.2 WiFi card into the M.2 WiFi slot. Secure them with the provided screws.
  5. Install Graphics Card: Insert your graphics card(s) into the PCI-E 16X 3.0 slots. For multi-GPU setups (e.g., CrossFire), consult your graphics card manual for proper configuration.
  6. Connect Storage Devices: Connect your SATA hard drives or SSDs to the SATA 3.0 ports using the provided SATA cable.
  7. Connect Power: Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector and the 8-pin (4+4) CPU power connector from your power supply to the motherboard.
  8. Connect Front Panel Headers: Connect the power switch, reset switch, HDD LED, power LED, and front USB/audio headers to their respective pins on the motherboard (refer to Figure 5 for locations).
  9. Install Motherboard into Case: Secure the motherboard into your PC case using standoffs and screws.
  10. Connect Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, monitor, and other peripherals to the rear I/O ports.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 First Boot

After assembling your system, connect it to a power source and a monitor. Press the power button on your PC case.

  • BIOS/UEFI Access: During startup, repeatedly press the 'DEL' or 'F2' key (common keys, may vary) to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility. Here you can configure boot order, system time, and other advanced settings.
  • Operating System Installation: Insert your operating system installation media (USB drive or DVD) and follow the on-screen instructions to install your preferred OS.
  • Driver Installation: After OS installation, install all necessary drivers for the motherboard, chipset, graphics card, and other components. Drivers can typically be found on the JINGSHA official website or by contacting customer service.

5.2 Digital Diagnostic Display

The onboard two-digits debug display (refer to Figure 5) provides diagnostic codes during the boot process. If your system encounters an issue, this display will show a code that can help identify the problem. Consult the motherboard's technical documentation or contact support with the code for assistance.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep Clean: Regularly clean dust from the motherboard and components using compressed air. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
  • Check Connections: Periodically check all power and data cable connections to ensure they are secure.
  • BIOS Updates: Keep your BIOS updated to the latest version for improved compatibility and performance. Obtain BIOS files from customer service.
  • Driver Updates: Ensure all system drivers are up-to-date for optimal performance and stability.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power/No Boot:
    - Ensure all power cables (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU) are securely connected.
    - Verify your power supply is sufficient (at least 500W recommended).
    - Check front panel power switch connection to the motherboard.
    - If the debug display shows a code, refer to the documentation for its meaning.
  • No Display:
    - Ensure your monitor is connected to the graphics card (not the motherboard's integrated graphics, if any).
    - Reseat the graphics card in its PCI-E slot.
    - Reseat RAM modules. Try booting with one RAM stick at a time.
  • System Instability/Crashes:
    - Check CPU and GPU temperatures. Ensure cooling solutions are properly installed.
    - Verify RAM is correctly installed and compatible.
    - Update BIOS and all drivers.
  • M.2 SSD Not Detected:
    - Ensure the M.2 SSD is properly seated and secured.
    - Check BIOS settings to ensure M.2 slots are enabled and configured correctly (e.g., NVMe mode).

8. User Tips

9.1 Warranty Policy

  • Initial Quality Issues (within 15 days of receipt): If the product has quality problems within 15 days of receiving the package, please provide video proof. We will provide a solution after confirming the problem.
  • Warranty Period Issues: If any problem arises during the warranty period, please contact us first. You may then be directed to a repair center. If the repair center cannot resolve the issue, you may need to return the product to the Chinese factory for repair.
