Setup and Installation

1. Mounting the Device

The device comes with different mounting brackets. The actual received mounting bracket shall prevail.

Method 1: Glass Suction Cup Type Suspension Installation

Attach the suction cup to a clean, smooth surface on your dashboard or windshield. Secure the player to the bracket.

Method 2: Desktop Horizontal Installation

Place the desktop bracket on a flat surface on your dashboard. Secure the player to the bracket.

The player supports large rotation, multi-angle turn, and can be flipped 270 degrees for optimal viewing.

2. Power Connection

This device is powered by the cigarette lighter power plug. After installing the device, insert the power plug into the car's cigarette lighter socket to turn it on.

The cigarette lighter power plug may come in different styles (Style 1: 12V OUT; Style 2: 12V OUT + 5V USBx2; Style 3: 5V USB OUTx2). The actual goods received shall prevail.

3. Reversing Camera Connection (Optional)

The reversing video input (AV IN, 3.5mm) can be connected through the RCA adapter cable. When a signal is detected at this port, the LCD will automatically switch to the camera image. The camera is purchased separately.

Operating Instructions

1. UI Interface Display

The device features a user-friendly UI interface for various functions. Navigate through PhoneLink, BT Music, FM Transmitter, BT, Apps, USB, and Setup options.

2. Audio Output Methods

There are three ways to output audio from the device:

  • Built-in Speaker: When playing music from a USB flash drive or TF Card, the sound will come from the built-in speaker on the back of the unit.
  • AUX Line Transmission: The AUX line (3.5mm) can transmit audio to your original car player. (Note: Only some car models support this feature).
  • FM Signal Transmission: The device can transmit audio to your original car radio via FM.
    1. Select one of the six preset FM transmission frequencies (e.g., 88.60/89.50/91.50/93.00/93.90/95.10MHz) on the device.
    2. Tune your original car radio to an empty channel (e.g., 92.3MHz) to avoid interference.
    3. Set the FM transmission frequency on the device to match your car radio's frequency. The sound will then be output through your car's speakers.

3. Bluetooth Pairing and Connectivity

You can use Bluetooth for music playback and hands-free calls. For wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, Bluetooth pairing is required first.

  • Device Bluetooth Name: "SWL-BT"
  • PIN Number: "0000" or "1234" (if required)

Connection Method:

  1. Power on the car player.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile phone and search for devices.
  3. Select "SWL-BT" from the list of available devices to connect.

4. Apple CarPlay (Wired & Wireless)

CarPlay allows you to intelligently and safely use iPhone features while driving. You can open navigation, make calls, send and receive messages, and listen to your favorite songs. It is compatible with all iPhones.

  • Wired Connection: Connect your iPhone to the player via a USB data cable. The CarPlay interface will launch automatically.
  • Wireless Connection: First, enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your iPhone, then connect via Bluetooth. The CarPlay interface will launch automatically. The signal is transmitted via Wi-Fi. If Wi-Fi is turned off, CarPlay will disconnect.

Note: Models without USB ports cannot use wired connections and can only use wireless connections.

5. Android Auto (Wired & Wireless)

Connect your Android phone to the car's screen to display your Android apps. You can get driving directions, send text messages by voice, or make phone calls hands-free. Android Auto is designed to help you pay attention to the road and enjoy entertainment while driving. To use Android Auto, you need a phone running Android 6.0 or higher and an active data cable connection. It can only be used when the mobile phone has a complete Google framework service and can connect to the Google website.

  • Wired Connection: Connect your Android phone to the player via a USB data cable. The Android Auto interface will launch automatically.
  • Wireless Connection: First, enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your Android phone, then connect via Bluetooth. The Android Auto interface will launch automatically. The signal is transmitted via Wi-Fi. If Wi-Fi is turned off, Android Auto will disconnect.

Note: Models without USB ports cannot use wired connections and can only use wireless connections.

6. Mirrorlink (Wired & Wireless)

Mirrorlink allows you to mirror your smartphone screen to the car player. It is compatible with Android and iOS systems.

  • For iPhone: When the device is connected to an iPhone, the content of the phone screen will be projected onto the car screen. You cannot control your iPhone from the car player screen.
  • For Android Phone: After connecting the USB data cable, you will be prompted to install the APP software. After installation, plug the data cable again, and it will enter screen mirroring mode. It can be operated on both the player screen and the phone screen. Only the image transfer is successful at this time. Audio can only be transmitted after a successful Bluetooth connection. You can control your Android phone from the car player screen.

7. Multimedia Playback (USB/TF Card)

You can play music, videos, and pictures from a USB device or TF card. The device supports various audio, video, and image formats.

  • USB Port: Plug in a USB device for music, video, and picture playback.
  • TF Card Slot: Insert a TF card for music, video, and picture playback.

8. Driving Recorder (Optional)

The device supports an optional USB dashcam for real-time recording of the driving process, enhancing safety and comfort.

Care and Maintenance

  • Clean the screen and device exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure all ports are free from dust and debris.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
  • Avoid exposing the device to direct sunlight or extreme heat, as this can affect its lifespan.

Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your BQCC Portable Car Player.

1. Device does not turn on.

  • Check the power input voltage: It should be DC 12V-24V.
  • Ensure the cigarette lighter power plug is securely inserted and receiving power.
  • If testing outside the car, connect the red and yellow wires to the positive side of a 12V power supply, and the black wire to the negative side.
  • Replace the fuse in the power plug if necessary.
  • Always use the provided power cables. Do not insert the original car plug directly into the unit.

2. No sound from the car radio when playing music.

  • If using an external audio cable, ensure it is compatible and correctly connected.
  • Check for any short circuits or collisions between speaker wires or power wires.
  • Test with a single speaker to connect a group of audio cables to test the car radio. The four-speaker cables are connected separately to see if there is any sound.
  • Ensure the selected audio output method (Built-in speaker, AUX, or FM) is correctly configured.

3. Cannot search for FM stations.

  • Ensure a radio antenna is properly inserted and well-contacted.
  • Check the signal strength in your location; try testing in an area with better reception.
  • If the car's radio antenna is faulty, replace it and retest.

4. Cannot connect Bluetooth to the car player.

  • On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings, search for devices, and select "SWL-BT". Enter "0000" or "1234" (or "123456") if a pairing code is requested.
  • Try pairing with another mobile phone to check if the issue is with your phone.
  • If problems persist, unplug the power plug from the back of the player, wait 3 minutes, and plug it back in.

5. MirrorLink connection issues.

  • Before connecting, ensure the "PhoneLink" function is selected on the device and "Mirror" mode is chosen.
  • Connect the data cable and authorize the connection on your mobile phone.
  • For Android Mirrorlink, ensure the required APP software is installed on your phone.

6. CarPlay or Android Auto does not connect automatically.

  • Set CarPlay or Android Auto as the default connection mode in the PhoneLink settings interface.
  • For wireless connections, ensure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your mobile phone.

7. Low volume during music playback or calls.

  • Press and hold your finger on the top of the screen and slide down to access the status bar. Adjust the playback volume.
  • During a call, return to the main interface and pull down the status bar to adjust the call volume.

8. Device does not remember time, date, or settings.

  • The device does not have a built-in battery to retain time/date. After connecting to a mobile phone, the time and date will automatically update.

9. Cannot play TF card, USB music, or video.

  • Use 8GB or 16GB TF cards and USB devices. Some large-capacity storage devices may not be supported.
  • Format the storage device using the FAT32 file system.
  • Ensure media files are in common formats (MP3, MP4, JPEG, etc.), as some encoding formats may not be recognized.

User Tips
