5. Setup Instructions

5.1. Paper Loading

  1. Open the printer cover by pressing the release button or lifting the cover.
  2. Insert the thermal paper roll into the paper compartment, ensuring the paper feeds from the bottom and the leading edge extends out of the printer.
  3. Close the printer cover firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure the paper is taut and aligned.

5.2. Connecting Interfaces

The WP300 printer supports USB, Serial (RS232), and LAN (Ethernet) connections.

  • USB Connection: Connect the printer to your computer using the provided USB cable.
  • Serial Connection: Connect the printer to your computer or POS system using the provided Serial (DB9) cable.
  • LAN Connection: Connect the printer to your network router or switch using an Ethernet cable. Ensure proper network configuration for IP communication.

5.3. Driver Installation

Install the appropriate drivers for your operating system (Windows, Linux, Android, iOS) from the provided CD or the manufacturer's website. Follow the on-screen instructions for installation.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off

Use the power switch located on the side or front of the printer to turn it on or off. The power indicator light will illuminate when the printer is on.

6.2. Self-Test Print

To perform a self-test and check the printer's basic functionality and configuration:

  1. Ensure the printer is powered off and paper is loaded.
  2. Press and hold the FEED button.
  3. While holding the FEED button, turn on the printer.
  4. Release the FEED button after the printer starts printing the self-test page.

6.3. Basic Printing

Once the printer is connected and drivers are installed, you can send print jobs from your application. The printer will automatically print the receipt and use its auto-cutter function.

6.4. Queueing Function

The printer supports a queueing function, allowing it to manage and print multiple orders in an orderly sequence, which is particularly useful in busy kitchen or restaurant environments.

6.5. NV LOGO Download and Image Printing

The printer allows you to download and store non-volatile (NV) logos or images for printing on receipts. Refer to the driver software documentation for detailed instructions on how to upload and configure custom logos.

6.6. IAP Online Upgrade

The printer supports In-Application Programming (IAP) for online firmware upgrades. This allows you to update the printer's software to the latest version, ensuring optimal performance and access to new features. 7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning the Printer

  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the printer with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Print Head: Regularly clean the thermal print head to ensure clear print quality. Use a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Gently wipe the print head surface. Allow it to dry completely before use.

7.2. Replacing Paper Roll

Follow the steps in Section 5.1 (Paper Loading) to replace an empty paper roll with a new one.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the printer and a working power outlet. Check the power switch.
  • No Print: Verify that paper is loaded correctly and the printer cover is closed. Check cable connections (USB, Serial, LAN). Ensure drivers are installed and the printer is selected as the default printer in your software.
  • Paper Jam: Open the printer cover, carefully remove any jammed paper, and reload the paper roll as per Section 5.1.
  • Cutter Malfunction: If the auto-cutter is not working correctly, open the printer cover. Press the FEED button or restart the printer to reset the cutter. If the issue persists, manually turn the gear to reset the cutter mechanism.
