5. Installation

The BASENGREEN BR-OW-LV battery is designed for indoor installation. Proper installation is crucial for safety and optimal performance.

5.1 Site Selection

  • Choose a cool, dry, and well-ventilated indoor location.
  • Ensure the ambient temperature is within the recommended operating range (0°C to 60°C for charging, -20°C to 60°C for discharging).
  • Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials.
  • The installation surface must be strong enough to support the battery's weight (150kg).
  • Maintain adequate clearance around the battery for ventilation and maintenance access.

5.2 Mounting

The battery is designed as a wall-mounted unit. Follow these general steps:

  1. Carefully unpack the battery and inspect for any damage.
  2. Using the provided mounting template (if applicable) or the dimensions (475*255*770mm), mark the drilling points on the wall.
  3. Drill holes and securely fasten the mounting bracket to the wall using appropriate hardware for the wall type.
  4. Carefully lift and attach the battery unit to the mounting bracket. Ensure it is firmly seated and locked in place.

5.3 Electrical Connections

All electrical connections should be performed by a certified electrician.

  1. Ensure all power sources are disconnected before making any connections.
  2. Connect the battery terminals (P+ and P-) to your inverter or charge controller according to the inverter's manual and local electrical codes.
  3. Verify correct polarity before energizing the system.
  4. Connect communication cables (RS485, RS232, CAN) to the inverter or monitoring system as required.
  5. If connecting multiple battery modules in parallel (up to 15 modules), ensure proper wiring and configuration as per the system design.

6. Operating Instructions

Once installed and connected, the battery system can be powered on and monitored.

6.1 Powering On/Off

  1. Ensure all connections are secure.
  2. Turn on the main power switch on the battery unit.
  3. Observe the LED indicators and LCD display for system status.
  4. To power off, reverse the procedure, ensuring the inverter is shut down first.

6.2 Monitoring

The battery features intelligent monitoring capabilities:

  • LCD Display: The integrated LCD provides real-time information on battery status, State of Charge (SOC), voltage, current, and temperature.
  • SOC Status Indicator: An optional SOC status indicator provides a quick visual reference of the battery's charge level.
  • Remote Monitoring: The battery can be uploaded to a cloud server through WiFi and monitored remotely via a mobile phone application or computer. This allows for real-time data access and system management.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your LiFePO4 battery system.

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check the battery for any physical damage, loose connections, or signs of corrosion.
  • Cleaning: Keep the battery unit clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Temperature Monitoring: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature ranges.
  • Firmware Updates: Check with BASENGREEN or your installer for any available firmware updates for the battery management system (BMS) to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
  • Avoid Deep Discharges: While LiFePO4 batteries tolerate deep discharges well, maintaining a higher State of Charge (e.g., above 20%) can further extend battery life.
