5. Initial Setup
5.1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the radio is powered off.
- Align the battery with the compartment on the back of the radio.
- Press the battery firmly until it clicks into place.
5.2. Antenna Attachment
- Screw the antenna clockwise onto the antenna connector on top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.
5.3. Charging the Battery
The radio supports two charging methods:
- Desktop Charging: Place the radio in the desktop charging dock. Ensure the charging contacts on the radio align with those on the dock. The indicator light on the dock will show charging status.
- Type-C Charging: Connect the USB Type-C cable to the port on the side of the radio and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Power On/Off and Volume
- Power On: Rotate the top-left knob clockwise until the screen illuminates.
- Power Off: Rotate the top-left knob counter-clockwise until the screen turns off.
- Volume Adjustment: Rotate the top-left knob to adjust the listening volume.
6.2. Basic Operation
- Channel/Frequency Selection: Use the up/down arrow keys or the numeric keypad to enter frequencies or select channels.
- PTT Buttons: The radio features three PTT buttons (PPT A, PPT B, Side Key 1) for flexible transmission.

6.3.7. Power Level Switching
The radio offers three power output levels: 10W, 5W, and 1W, allowing for smart switching to conserve battery or maximize range as needed. Navigate to the 'Radio Set' menu to adjust the 'Trans Power' setting.

6.3.8. Aviation Band Reception

6.3.9. Super Mode (Extended Full Band)
To enable extended full band transmit and receive, first start the machine, then press and hold the PTT button and the '8' key simultaneously during power-on. This will activate 'Super Mode'.

8. Troubleshooting
- No Power
- Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly installed. Check if the power/volume knob is turned on.
- Cannot Transmit or Receive
- Verify the antenna is properly connected. Check if the frequency is correctly set and within the radio's supported range. Ensure you are not in a receive-only mode or a restricted channel. Check the power output setting.
- Poor Audio Quality
- Check the volume level. Ensure the microphone and speaker ports are clean and unobstructed. If using external accessories, ensure they are Radtel-approved to prevent damage.
- GPS/APRS Not Working
- Ensure the radio has a clear view of the sky for GPS signal acquisition. Check GPS/APRS settings in the menu.
- Bluetooth Programming Issues
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the radio and your mobile device. Make sure the app is the latest version and the radio is in programming mode (if required by the app).
